Type 2 Life

Well I've been ill (nasty cough/cold). My sugar has been controlled by insulin, for now. Here I am and I cannot sleep. Wide awake. Not energetic but not sleepy either. I've tried counting sheep but got bored. Sugar has been steady all day. Only insulin was this evening with supper.
Now I'm not ill do you think my insulin jab is generating energy I need to use before sleep?
Or either that or my levothyroxine is too strong now being good on lchf diet like before xmas eve?
Whatever it is stopping me sleeping should bog off. Ha ha
Still have a dry tickly cough and inhaling albos oil.
I WANT TO SLEEP LIKE THE REST OF THE HOUSEHOLD.
Sorry for shouting but bit annoyed.
I envy all of you now in deep sleep and feel like I'm not longer in a special club.
Is there anyone else wide awake?

I've had a rough night with my chest. It's so annoying when you want to sleep but can't

Sending love to @ickihun and @loulou99782 nothing worse than not being able to sleep
p.s. Hubby took this photo at our local Country Park 5 mins from our house, we do [sometimes] get sunshine in Scotland :joyful:
A lovely pic @13lizanne . I'd love to show a slim pic of me but haven't got one. I'm hoping lchf will hold the key. I'm optimistic. :-)

Afternoon. Still rotten with this virus I have. Nose is drying up but sore throat now. FBG of 9.4 and that's a high reading now for me but I think they will go down when I recover. Taking extra insulin. :)

You definitely got what I've got. It must be making it's way up the country. lol
It is a nasty cold. Drink plenty of warm/hot drinks and keep warm. Fluids are the key I think. Mind you I've taken a few ibuprofen with extra insulin as only relief with Olbas oil.
Good job partner is at home to help out but he's sick of me being not right. Glucose is good because of low carbing and insulin but I've had a few ailments of late. Poor thing. He's had a sore throat for a couple of hours and it's all left him alone. Some people have all the luck. lol
Mind u if we'd both had it my mum would have cried if I'd had to ask her to do a school run. :-/

Hi @mo53 - So did you have all the symptoms long before? I had all the symptoms for 2 years and my GP at the time told me I was "borderline", it was when I went on a day thingy at local hospital and was told by the Specialist there's no such thing as "borderline"! = You either have Diabetes or you don't. (That was way back in 2000) - but, now it seems that's different from postings on here! Enjoy your Swim? :)

Hi @liam1955 i had been prescribed a tablet by the doctor which reacted with fat, for weight loss. If you ate any fat the results were rather unpleasant toilet episodes so I ended up eating more carbs than ever to try to fill myself. I had been on this for over 6 months when I was diagnosed with type 2. I then went low carb strictly for 6 months and had great results but I gradually sLipped back and put the 2 stone I had lost back on. I am now back on low carb and trying hard to lose the weight again. I have a blood test tomorrow. How do you feel now?

Hi @mo53 - Those tablets by any chance were called: Orlistat (Beacita Capsules) if so? I know EXACTLY what you mean!!!! I've got another 10lb to loose by May (when I attend Hospital Diabetic Clinic) and I will then stick at 12 stone (have lost 1stone 4lbs since last May) the Insulin is to blame for the weight gain. But, I just have "cravings" for Chocolate. Have been told to be strict with myself during the week and look upon the weekend as "treat time" = so I can have a whole bar of Chocolate to myself, just wish everyday was a weekend!!!! I'm not totally 100% Vegetarian anymore - my partner is a meat eater and eats it when we go out, but over the years I have sampled meat (as a one off), I do occasionally eat a boiled egg or two, and well crisp rasher of bacon and sausages cooked like on a bar-b-q. But I adore Scampi and chips with peas - don't have chips at home so when we go out I might have just a plate of chips if nothing else I fancy on the menu. Anyway, I've gone on enough and your going swimming. I enjoy our word, movie and A - Z games with You, Lizanne, Rodman and others - keeps the grey matter active. Enjoy the rest of your day. :)
