Type 2 Life

@eddie1968 - what weight do you want to be? I have just got another 10lbs to lose and that will be the 2 stone that I was asked to lose when last saw Diabetes Consultant at the Hospital in November 2015. 6 years ago I was 10stone - (and had Diabetes 10 years and during that time only put on a stone) - but went through a traumatic time and My attitude was "sod it I am sick of this Diabetes lark", and so I just gave up and ate what I wanted, and didn't take my Metformin. And so, the weight began creeping on.
@liam1955 another stone would do it. My BMI is 27 and not in the obese category anymore. I am still very insulin resistant and take 144 units of insulin a day and this is a lot. :)

Wow - that is a lot of insulin. My BMI is 27.2 as of November 2015. I only take 40 Units of (background insulin) HUMULIN i between 8 - 9am every morning. And take 4 x 500mg Metformin plus 1 x 5mg Dapagliflozin then there is all the other 'pills' I take to keep me rattling:D - Do keep an eye on the time, would not want you to be late for your doctors appointment, with me keeping you chatting.:)

Originally started on 88 units daily two years ago. The injections sting, multiple injections and a lot to plunge down. It's a pain and the constant finger pricking just adds to it. :)

@13lizanne - Well HELLO Anna, I see you are back from your travels!!! Have missed you:) @mo53 is poorly - Bless Her. @eddie1968 and I having a good blether today and keeping this thread 'alive' - don't know where? Everybody else is? = Hiding????:D:D

I've ironed clothes, cleaned up after cooking and going for a shower. I'm still in my jammies at 1.30pm! Will get some desperately needed groceries after the doctors. :)

Hello! I though I'd join this forum, I like a good chat :D I know most of you from the "what was you bg this morning" forum.
I'm a golfer (I do archery too). Yesterday, I didn't do too bad score wise, better than other rounds. Unfortunately, I caught my foot in the long grass, toppled over and hurt my knee and lower back not too badly. I struggled to get up as I have broken my knees in the past and arthritis has now set in. I was not a pretty sight with my legs up in the air and couldn't stop laughing :D. My husband managed to get me up and I continued like nothing had happened :smug: Golf is a risky game :joyful:
Hi Kim, yes this is a good place to chat. Sorry for awarding you a funny emoticon but I have a very vivid imagination :) I haven't tried golf myself, my husband and I are keen hillwalkers, hikers and swimmers. Until recently I travelled locally on my bicycle and played badminton but gave these up two years ago when my circumstances changed. It's good to have another person who enjoys humour - pun anyone?- to chat to, I'm really amazed that we've not been shut down on the fasting BG thread- the mods used to be very strict about posting fbg levels only on there and although I'm a culprit myself I do think things have been getting out of hand recently. There is also a thread called "Good Morning" on this forum which is a nice friendly place to chat, you will be very welcome there too. Hope your knees are none the worse today?

@13lizanne I have not posted my FBGs anymore on that thread for 3 months now, posts were being edited and the thread became boring. This thread could easily go to General Chat so it will go on now there are regulars.

Hello Mr @liam1955 yes, I'm back -just like Arnie :) I had a good time with my little bro - all 6ft of him. He was showing me his new laze-e-boy leather chair and I was in fits of laughter watching him raising + lowering the footrest, headrest etc. He was like a wee boy again. It was his treat to himself for his birthday next week. Hope Eddie is getting on OK at docs how are you today? - really, how are you?

Hi all, hope everyone is feeling better than they did yesterday, or at least no worse.
I can sympathise with William & Eddie (hope you don't mind) with your other ailments (that sounds such a mild word) I have spondylitis (a type of arthritis) in my lower spine and arthritis most elsewhere, and UC and diverticular disease in bowel. Whole digestive system not very good, but things could be a lot worse.
It can't decide whether it's going to dry up or not here. As long as we don't get snow and ice I'll keep my grumbles to a minimum, maybe ;).

Thank you for your welcome 13lizanne! I'm just a little bruised , but I'm ok :). I don't know how I got away with this morning's post on the bg thread . Sometimes you want to add more, so I thought this is the place to do it :D. Yes I do have a sense of humour, I think you need one to get through life :joyful:.
I'm having an easy day today. We hosted a BBQ on Sunday, and yes, it was outside. Men outside and ladies inside in the warm:happy:. It was an American style BBQ where everyone contributed to the food, we supplied the burger, sausages, buns, hot Mexican dip, vodka jelly shots and some wine and everyone else brought salads and desserts - some very yummy :p. It went well and new friendships were made there, double success!

@13lizanne - Anna, today I am pleased with my blood sugar this morning - not been in the 5's for ages. Had the BEST night's sleep in ages and woke refreshed. :D

I didn't realise that you weren't supposed to put anything but figures on the fasting levels threads. Sometimes an explanation (excuse:angelic:) is required. If this thread gets moved please let me know because I can get lost in a cupboard.

Nah, this thread is going to do fine, it's more flexible and you can be more chatty. The problem with the FBG thread is it's too rigid and you can be thread derailing if you say anything more than your fasting numbers.
