@kjc2011
Have a look at my signature as there you will find a link to the basic information we give to members and a link to the Low Carb Program and I hope you will find them helpful.
Thank you for that will have a good look and will give it a go it can only help as I was told to have a small portion of carbs with each meal which doesn't seem to be helping me at the minute so can only help me I prove things x

@liam1955 I seem to have pain in my foot , hand back today which could be gout. Cramp hasn't joined in yet! Lol. My son is flying back today. He missed his original plane and is now having to change planes. How are you today? Your morning blood was good wasn't it? :)

Hello @mo53 - Oh dear, Sorry to hear your in Pain:( I can nip over to Scarborough I've a "lovely bedside manner"!!! As you know (think I mentioned it?) my Dad-in-law suffers with Gout really severely. We buy him from Holland & Barratt - 100% pure elite natural organic cherry juice at £2.99 for a 250ml bottle. Believe me it WORKS. This is the site that DILaw gave me:
www.symptomfind.com/nutrition-supplements/gout-foods-to-avoid
It tells you about foods to eat for gout and the foods to avoid also.
That's good your Son comming home - you will have peace of mind now:)

I'm good today Thanks @mo53 - feel bright and much happier. Done well in that I've had a fair bit of UNdisturbed, pain free sleep in last couple of days = Thanks be to the Tramadol. What's happening with your fasting??? I got quite a nice shock with mine this morning = did not expect that reading for me? Oh, well looks like I'll be having a little bit of chocolate, notice I say 'little' - not a lot!! :D

Hi @maureen5752 - Thanks for that interesting read. I've had the Fibroscan and got my score, just waiting for the appointment to come around and see the Liver Specialist. My Liver Function is checked on a monthly basis because the levels are 'abnormal' - got blood test for next week. Good Night :)
@liam it must be reassuring to know the specialist can help.
I hope your appointment is soon and can help you quickly.
I think you've got enough to do already. Hugs today. :-)

My daughter is home for a hens party (she gets married in 2 months) I drove to Sydney to pick her up from the airport last night (a 6 hour journey in total)

Whilst driving I had 3 x 25g packets of crisps and 2 x 25g packets of peanuts. My justification was that I needed the energy to keep awake whilst driving through the evening and into the early hours(fair enough). But my daughter hadn't eaten so we pulled into a roadside McDonald's and I helped myself to a junior cheese burger and small fries. When I got home I ignored the meter and thought I will face that when I wake up. BFG was 4.4 which was very surprising. However weigh in is tomorrow so I might pay yet.
@muzza3 wow I bet your 4.4 was a pleasant surprise. Do you think because you were active through the night it absorbed your carbs? Liver imput at 2-3am wasn't involved either?
It's very interesting. I'm wondering if the carbs will be delayed on your fbg. If tomorrow's is high you'll know why.
I find the liver participation very very interesting. I appreciate your findings. I know others do too.
Metformin is suppose to assist the liver. It stopped working for me and will always wonder why!
Thanks again for sharing your excellent fbg after carbs. :-)

@ickihun - Thank You Dearie:) I mentioned you in a thread this morning, it was nothing horrid - I just praised you for your advice that you give to others. We all "bounce off" each other with our individual knowledge. :)

Afternoon everyone,
Hope everyone is having a good day. For anyone feeling under the weather, hugs & best wishes are coming your way.

Hubby is putting together a folding exercise bike for our daughter, I may just have to go looking for earplugs when the air turns blue. He is not the most patient person especially when he doesn't read the instructions 1st!!! Oh happy days.
When we had our 1st house he was working all hours so I went shopping for a wardrobe fitment with my Dad & Stepmother. We measured where it was going, so I was well prepared with the measurements. I found this lovely, self-assembly, cream marble effect, 8'6" wide, 5 door fitment that fitted the alcove a treat. I was so excited when it was delivered, an old friend had come to help him assemble it. The instructions were all in French, the alcove was wider at waist height (where we measured) than at floor level. It took all day to cut and remove skirting boards and figure out what went where. He's never let me forget it and I've never let him get out of shopping for furniture again. We still have the fitment (but not the house) although it is on it's last legs now after going up and down so many times over the years.
I think I'd better make him a cup of tea and find those earplugs. Back later. xx

Hi ickihun
It was a pleasant surprise although since I was diagnosed and even when I had let it all go with no control when I tested again I have never seemed to encounter the dawn effect. I will be interested in tomorrow mornings BFG although there is probably something to your thought that the energy used in the drive would have burnt off some of those carbs. I'm hopeful that after the ND that I may be one of the "lucky ones" that gets a reversal and there are signs that this maybe the case but I am reluctant to push it too much until I reach my goal weight. At that point I will start trying some carb loading and testing to see what the responses are. Cheers

@muzza3 has it been 3 months already since you stopped metformin? Doesn't time fly when you're having fun!
It is very interesting how it all pans out.
ND would work short term for me. I've history of intermittent fasting diets. I'm back to bigger than ever. :-(

Feeling grumpy this afternoon. It's been a gorgeous day today, after a very wet day yesterday and a cold night, but all the ups and downs in barometric pressure are playing havoc with my arthritis. Everything hurts! :arghh:
The family are coming over for a BBQ and all I want to do is take lots of painkillers, curl up in my duvet and hope for a better day tomorrow. **** you, Arthur Eyetus! :(

Hi @Lindy1706 - Sometimes you have to "experiment" to see results. Bedtime snacks should always contain Protein such as: Cheese, - Meat, - handful of Nuts....While you are asleep if your blood sugar lowers, then your Liver will come into action (commonly known as Liver Dumping) and release glucose into your system, and on waking your fasting blood sugar may be higher than what it was before bed?
I look forward to seeing what your morning results are? :)

Hi I hope everyone has had a good day ☺ the weather has been shocking here today but I have had my 10 year old nephew keeping me compay we have had a pj/duvet day with films Harry Potter is the next one he has requested lol little Potter fan he is. Wishing everyone a good evening xx

I'm settling down to watch the Voice 2 hrs of Ricky Wilson whoar! may need resurrection afterwards. What has this to do with diabetes you may ask, and I answer - absolutely nothing

Yep, I can see the attraction - he is cute. If I was 50 years younger, he'd be in trouble! ;)

We were supposed to be going out this evening but plans changed, so i am now watching the Voice. I know what you mean about Ricky, although I have a bit of a "thing" about Will.I.Am. I find Paloma Faith completely irritating though.
