Hi @maureen5752 - Have you got an infection or something? Only that you mentioned you were taking Antibiotics.
Hi sorry didn't reply I got disconnected, rejoined. Got disconnected . Rejoined so let's hope it's ok now, I'm on antibiotics and steroids, got plurisey!!!! Stopped taking steroids today as sugars went SKY high all weekend, faces bloated and went red as a beetroot! Also had vision problems! Plus other side effects, saw doctor today, just got to let the steroids get out of my system, never take those again but still on antibiotics. Have great day everyone incase get cut of again !

@maureen5752 - Sorry to read you've not been well. Your blood sugars will come down slowly as the steroid leaves your system. And I see your on Antibiotics too - when you are ill, your body makes hormones to fight illness. These same hormones raise blood sugars which is why you have to test more often. Drink plenty of water and/or sugar free fluids, and I hope you get better soon:)

Early start to the day, lots off at work for the holidays and still the same amount of work to do... but got some programming sorted, which helps "State of Mind".
5.1 am, seem to be bit more under control, fingers crossed and see how it goes.
@liam1955 hope the shots hit the mark, never too keen on injections me...

Hi I'm gonna have to give up on this forum. Every time I want to jion in I have to rejoin all over again, don't know what's going on, perhaps I should just give up.

Up and down day. Thought it would be difficult going back to work after a few days off but woke up before the alarm so got up early and was out of the front door at 5.45 to walk down to the station where I just missed the 6.30 train by 2 minutes!

Got into work to 40 odd e-mails to read but first to checks the blood sugar. Had been 6.4 before breakfast and only had an 8 carb yogurt so must have been the exercise that pushed me up to 8.7 at 7.45.

Busy morning but not too stressful and back down to 6.2 at lunchtime. Have found that I can usually get away with a sandwich at lunchtime and not be any higher than 8 but today wasn't one of those days - 8.9 two hours after eating.

Having got in early I was all for leaving at 4 but got a call that I had to deal with and didn't leave until after 5. Home just after 6.30 to a reading of 5.3 and had a small cumberland pie and a lot of peas for tea. Another quarter of an hour and we'll see where the levels have got to!

@david1968 - Hello:). Don't know if you know? - but Worry and Stress releases Cortisol into the blood, and this elevates blood sugar.

Thanks @liam1955 - I had read something to that effect but usually I'm ok. Just one of those days today!

Not much hope for me though - a natural born worrier who has a stressful job!

Problem is, it's a job that I've been doing for 30 years and I'm not sure I'd be much good at anything else. That said, I do find that I can relax quite easily away from work and I'm getting better at managing it in work - used to have a very demanding boss but they retired a couple of years ago and things have been far more relaxed since.

Edit: BS 7.4 two hours after eating.

I hope you settle back into work routine quickly @david1968 and tomorrow is a better day for you.
Look after yourself and give the bread a miss. Make something nice to eat for lunch. Oily salad with fav protein?
What is your fav dish?

@david1968 - Thanks for the link, I remember reading the entries and I had even put several on the thread myself. That's brilliant how well you have done and in such a short time too. So you'll be following the LCHF Diet like a lot of members do. All I can say is Well Done - You are truly amazing.:)
