Type 2 Life

So I am guessing that posting weekly averages is not allowed on the "Type 2's What was your fasting Blood Glucose in the morning" either.

If we are literally only allowed to post the number then it is making me a little suspicious that this data is being "gathered'. So I will not be posting on that thread anymore. Bit sad really as it was a morning ritual test And post to hold myself to account.

Hi @Lindy1706
Same for me. Mine was 5.9 this morning so at least I've now said it here. Hopefully we can use this thread and also freely help each other. I've looked at the fasting thread and people are still asking questions and it does seem so rude not to reply.

Not a problem @TooManyCrisps will be happy to let you know how it goes
As Rons wife / carer I will post on here about the course for all those who are in the same position as I am. As i'm sure there are a lot of you out there.xxx

Oh well never mind must be method there somewhere.

It just seems a wee bit soulless now.

Like you I shall post my morning figures here so at least I am still comitting to writing it down no matter how high or low it goes :-)

Made it back from my Lake District break in one piece. Had a very enjoyable time in the company of a group of friends watching football, drinking beer an eating curry. Back on the wagon (and the scales) tomorrow!

Are you on any meds David? My levels rocket if I so much as look at a simple complex carb. I agree that it's depressing when you read all the low BG results but I have a feeling that lots of people who read the posts have much higher BG but don't want to admit to it. The threads can read like some kind of competition sometimes, unfortunately. It is bloomin hard work to keep the nos down Some days I think **** it and eat a sandwich for lunch then my levels are raised for days afterward. Don't think that you are different to everyone else David I would have a very large bet that there are loads of forum members in the same position as yourself.
I agree, when I read some of the posts, especially on "What was your fasting FBG?" then I feel like a complete failure because a good day for me is if the number starts with a 7 not an 8. But then I decided to just stop comparing myself and get on with what I could control, which is my carb intake. My liver really doesn't do me any favours in the morning.

I think people are more likely to post "good" numbers and then it becomes a bit of a vicious circle. I get pxxxd off if I post, say, "7.5" and get lots of hugs. I don't need a hug - it's an improvement on yesterday!!!

Your post was moved to a new thread as it strayed from the topic - fasting blood sugars. People are not limited to just a number but cannot go off and talk about other readings. You now have a thread where you and any other members can post weekly average BS results if you find that helpful. Now any member searching for weekly averages will be able to find them more easily.

The site does not gather your blood glucose results - no matter which thread they are in - and I am unsure as to why you would think it might want to.

You can still post your daily FBG in the appropriate thread and hold yourself to account in the new thread.

Take care

Doug

@TooManyCrisps you really just need to concentrate on your management. When you see others lower readings then take out of that "I can do that too" rather than "I'm a failure". There is a forum full of people rooting for you and ready to support you on your journey.

Take care
