Type 2 Life

I've had a day of really high bloods (for me), I've had two separate readings of 9.2! My bloods have been really unstable for two days now, swinging from my usual high 4s/low 5s through 7s and 8s until today when I got 9.2 after lunch and again after dinner. I've not changed my foods or exercise although I did have two potatoes tonight. I don't feel ill, what can be wrong?
PS I have been really stressed for several weeks now with serious illness in the family

Hi @13lizanne It could well be stress. One other thing, have you just opened a new set of strips? Or left the top off the container?
Hope it calms down soon. Lots of hugs.

@Hiitsme thanks for the suggestions, it is an almost finished tub of strips I'm using
and I've trained myself never to leave the top off, wish it was that. I think it may be stress since that's the only change in my circumstances. I pride myself on being a calm person but the truth is I do worry when people that I love are in distress. Thank you for the hugs, much appreciated.x
@liam1955 and @eldergarth that would be three votes for stress along with hiitsme, will try to be calmer :)

@13lizanne - You are the first to say to others to talk, so the table is turned towards you now. Anna You know I am here for you = anytime, day or night :) William xx

Gosh it's taken me ages to find this thread and that was by chance reading a convo between Liam and Squeekyboy
Hello to each and everyone of you, some I recognise from morning fasting sugars thread

Up early tomorrow starting work at 5am so alarm set for 4am I'm in bed the tellys on but only on in the background been a lovely day up here or down here depending where you are

Will test sugars at 4.30am now hoping for a bit of kip

@hankjam :) I have gone totally off coffee and have converted to Yorkshire Tea, big mugs of it with a splash of milk builders style.....do not seem to be able to get enough of it...very odd as I was never a tea drinker!

I only have two expresso's at work and at weekend one filtered coffee, black, they are strong and don't seem to affect my BG's.
Tea, one cup in the morning and it used to be Yunan from our local coffee/tea merchant Dundee, Braithwaithes, but since we tried their Houseblend we've drank nearly nothing else.... and it brews up a colour.... beginning to take it black as well.
Been known to have a shot of gin on a weekend night...

So sorry that youvegot illness in the family. I've read that stress can definitely raise your levels - the problem is, you then get stressed about raised levels so it sort of spirals.

So I am guessing that posting weekly averages is not allowed on the "Type 2's What was your fasting Blood Glucose in the morning" either.

If we are literally only allowed to post the number then it is making me a little suspicious that this data is being "gathered'. So I will not be posting on that thread anymore. Bit sad really as it was a morning ritual test And post to hold myself to account.
Exactly what I think the thread is intended for @Lindy1706 keeping you on the routine and I think it helped early on. I really don't think there is anything sinister to the thread. You're right, it is just for posting a number.

To help hubby with his feet I've spent half an hour massaging cream into them. Have come across a very sensitive toe , he said when I touched it it felt like a knife cutting into it. Although there was other parts of his feet that he couldn't feel anything at all. Yet tingling on other toes. Few patches of rough skin will soon have them smoothed out . Things I do for this man .xxx

Evening everyone
I'm a little anxious and stressed out about my appointment with the nurse tomorrow. Imhaving a BP check and to discuss my blood glucose results from my first week of testing.
My bloods seem to be all over the place and really unstable, even with or without the carbs constantly up and down and I am always feeling hungry as I have reduced my carb intake nd portion sizes.
I feel that I should have a handle on this after 6 years but to be honest I have only just started to take control this past few weeks and beginning to understand more since testing and speaking to everyone on here.
Okay rant over ☺. I know the I have posted on here quite a lot over the past weekand asked lots of questions, but you have all been lovely and given me some great advice. Xx

You'll be fine @kjc2011 everyone has the same experience when we first cut down on the carbs/portions and work to gain control of our bloods. Your dn should understand that. Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

Thank you knowing that it is normal helps and I think I knew that deep down. Also I tell myself it is one step at a time reduce levels and then concentrate on keeping them stable. It won't happen overnight will all take time. I will let you know how I get on tomorrow. Thank you and i Hope you are feeling better soon xx

So a sorry to hear about this Anna, I know stress can make a huge difference to your levels. I was under a huge amount of stress last year when mum was hospitalised twice and A had a breakdown at college. Lo and behold I was diagnosed in the October! Sending you massive hugs xx

Thank you Barbara, I think I told you my GP thinks years of caring for D with associated lack of sleep, stress etc caused my type 2 so that's something else we have in common! Thanks for hugs xx
