Type 2 Life

Went to the Dentist today with my gum infection. Antibiotics have brought the swelling right down but Dentist couldn't find the infection ( 2 xrays later). He was quite surprised and suggested I finish the antibiotics course and see if it comes back??

Hmmm didn't fill me with confidence. But he was stunned by my weightloss so I spent 10 minutes discussing the Newcastle Diet which was great for the ego and I suppose got me some value for my $80

Attending the DAFNE reunion catch up course tomorrow at hospital
It's been a month since the full 5 day course we're having an update day

We are fortunate to have this thread to share all these little tips, ask questions, answer questions, give advice, have a moan/rant or debate. But, we have to realise and understand it's for Type 2 Diabetes Life and living with it. We don't want this thread taking away. Hope you all agree with what I am saying?
Sorry, @liam1955 - you're absolutely right. I got a little off-track there on the Cyprus thing... :sorry:

Hmm Thanks for that @13lizanne - @debrasue I have always used Surgical Spirits on the backs of my heels, because if anyone is going to blisters from walking - it's me. If you use surgical spirits everyday it does eventually harden the skin. Which is why I only do it on my finger tips once every 10 days just to make sure they are free from germs, bacteria etc. And might I add, don't smell of Garlic and Onions all the time!:D
Try one of these - a stainless steel odour remover. They usually cost under a fiver and they really work. You just rub it between your hands under running water, as you would a bar of soap, and it takes the smell of garlic, onion, etc away completely. I've used mine for years and have got all my friends using them, too - I should be on commission! ;)
Lots of places sell them online.

Do you like seafood? I have corned beef, mince, bacon, gammon, turkey, good sausages. Lamb, cods roe, shark and kangaroo.
So seafood, shark and cods roe maybe?
Noooooooo - not Skippy!?! :joyful:
(Only joking, @ickihun! I've had all the others, but never tasted kangaroo. It's supposed to be very high-quality protein and low in fat, isn't it? What does it taste like?)

Type 2 life. What a life! Ha ha
It's so impregnated in our lives. It affects most things. It's understandable the thread is getting a huge variant of topics.
All I can offer is what's on the forums already. Read them and see for yourself.
I enjoy re-reading old posts but then become sad at how many don't post anymore. Where have all these people gone? Knowledge lost?
Yes, that's a sad part of life, isn't it. But I guess we can all value and learn from each other while we're in contact, and be grateful for what those who have moved on leave behind. At least then they've never really gone. I think that's why it's important to share as much as we can while we're here!

@debrasue - Thanks for that, will look in Barnett when next in town. I am just as GUILTY for I do 'waffle' on sometimes.:)(the moderators watch over us on the threads) But, it has been mentioned that we are losing other members who come to this thread looking for answers, support and to ask questions. :)

Hi I waffle on a bit as well so sorry will try to behave in future! Have good day everyone

How did your injections go William, is your leg OK now? Have you got a headache this time? @liam1955

I really did bleed onto my trousers, the needle must have hit a vein. Yeah, have got a headache = called Richard! Just been to get spare car keys now he has to walk back 20 minutes to the car!!!! :D

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a good day.

@liam
We're all guilty to a degree and forget about General Chat, Soapbox etc. Maybe if we want to share with the 'usual suspects' we can put something on here like posting on general chat for a bit. That way everyone can have a look (if interested) and when we're there we can invite other Type 2's back to Life. Same with FBG's, post on Fasting and elaborate here.

That hug was for Richard, but I do hope the head and leg are better too

Ooh thanks for that William, I love nuts. I like to have a handful of brazils when I have a munchie attack. Better than a bag of crisps!

Evening everyone can anyone suggest any snacks along with cheese and nuts that can nibble on when peckish which won't affect bloods too much thank you x
