Type 2 Life

Evening. Very tired after a hard day. Thinking of an early night under the duvet. Weather was kinda warm mid afternoon but not as good down South. Just had a salad for dinner and yawning. :)

Sounds like a good decision! lol :joyful:
I think I may have to try it one more time, though, as I've just found a recipe for Courgetti Carbonara which might redeem it, especially if I add a few beansprouts to the courgetti to give it a bit of 'bite'...

Sending lots of hugs to you @liam1955 and you @ickihun I'm still waiting results from my xrays and also had to send in another urine sample because of high levels of protein .
Pain in my hips getting worse and have had to sign of work for a while will be trying docs again tomorrow for stronger pain killers .

Hi folks,

Been having a dreadful time with the site, that's why I haven't been posting. I've really missed the chats :(. Hopefully everything is back to normal.

@liam1955, Fingers crossed for a speedy, painless recovery xx

@13lizanne, Hope you are feeling better and that you 'enjoyed' your weekend away as much as possible xx

@ickihun, Sorry to hear you were not feeling well and glad to hear you're a bit better. Windeze or Windsettler capsules (find them in Tesco etc) are good for trapped wind but so is soda water. I always try to have 1 or the other at all times. xx

I hope everyone else is well, getting better or not getting any worse xx (Think that covers all bases)

Bloods have been reasonable so I tried an apple today (1st this year). Readings, 5.1 just before, 7.3 after an hour & 6.2 after 2 hrs. Pretty pleased with this.

Take care everyone, Karen xx

Evening all, I've been dashing about like a clockwork mouse today! Had food shopping to do this morning, loads of jobs to do in town this afternoon and tonight I walked with my son to the theatre only to find the performance is tomorrow groan! I'm now putting my feet up with a cuppa and my knitting :)

It's leukocytes (white blood cells) in the urine that are signs of a UTI. Protein in the urine can be signs of kidney dysfunction depending what protein it is (like albumin, a protein that should not be in urine). Sometimes people show proteins in urine for no known cause. :)
I had protein in my water throughout my both pregnancies but no infections. I agree its left unknown.

After a bad start (BS 7.4) the day seems to be ending well. In the office which restricts activity. But got a walk in at lunchtime (salad) and again in the afternoon - post office and back, quick shop on the way home, and cut the grass before another salad with rib eye steak and a large mushroom stuffed with pepper, haloumi spring onion and basil. 2 hrs later a reading of 6.1 fairly pleased with that outcome

Hi @ickihun and @eddie1968 - Doc just said there was protein in the urine and he would send sample of to the Hospital. And I was to drink more water than I usually do to flush out my kidneys over the next couple of days. My Blood Pressure was also raised = 148/95 but then has Doc said having back ache would up it anyway. Have had a few days of Sciatica and just been feeling "out of sorts" really.:(
(I've got constant backache what with 2 Herniated Disc's in my Lumbar spine and Arthritis in my sacral area) Next week it is my Diabetic Review at the Hospital - so, will find out what my HBA1C is? Sorry Vicky to hear that you are suffering with that 'bloody tablet too!!:(

Thanks @eldergarth for the hugs:). Sorry to hear you are not too good yourself, but, Insist on getting stronger pain relief from your GP, and maybe your x-Ray results may have arrived at the Surgery. :)

Travelled to Germany yesterday. Struggled with LCHF choices at airport, should've been more organised! Ate a lot of chocolate- all 70% or above - but still too much. FBG at 7.0 today my 5s run is smashed. Will get back on track today tho, German meats I think and a swim in a lake near Leipzig. Trade show this morning where I know the food will be awful so a good breakfast at my friend's house. He has been ultra kind and researched low carb so he knows what to cook.

On the app today and can't like anything? I'm not been miserable and ignoring people ...

Otherwise happy weekend everyone- looks like awesome weather, keep your BBQ LCHF

Morning folks, another lovely Kentish day here, just tested at 6.2 so have now had a long run at nothing over for 6's for a goodly while so happy.

Waiting for a plumber to come this morning then off into town to pay some cheques in and take my far too big clothing into a charity shop.

I have a patio full of plants that need to be potted so I an guessing that will be my afternoon.

Have a good day all x

@PenfoldAPD my fbg was 6.9 yhis morning but I keep getting offered ice cream and carnt resist. Weather being so lovely, for a change up here.
I love Germany. My friend training to be a teacher lives in bad aibling where train crash recently. She was ment to be on that train but god love her she was spared. Phew! We went through hell for a few hours til she got in touch. She's brilliant. We miss her. She looked after my now 9yr old when he was a toddler. Great role model.
Have a great time. Ps. She used to mix seed everything for digestion. :)

@liam stopped canagliflozin this morning. No weight loss anyway so waste of time. In fact with side affect it increases bg and weight from retained liquids. I drink constantly so not me. Stupid tablet. It's ok for a few weeks then it builds up to tablet from hell. More insulin but I'm hoping long term I can decrease again.
I've ordered r-ala which is a suppliment which makes insulin more desensitive. I should be able to reduce insulin injection amount by 3rd or half.
Should arrive next week so I'll let you know how I get on. In germany it is on prescription to all diabetics, I believe @PenfoldAPD . Can you quiz your germany friend? Is he diabetic or know a german one?
William have a good day today I have my bbq planned so just need some salad and buns for the boys. :)
Will try and make ice cream low carb later if no pain to distract me.
Took ibuprofen yesterday and today so bgs will be a bit higher til I can strangle them with lchf. Ha ha

7.8 this morning at 7.30am Up from 6.8 yesterday

Not sure that I trust my SD Codefree machine as yesterday after my walk it told me I was 13.something, then tested another finger on same hand and I was 10.5 Tested other hand and I was 6.8 which seemed more likely than the higher figures. Before tea I was reading 6.2

Wondering if I should go back to my accu check? Advice anyone?

Hi @berylc I prefer accu chek. There results are more in keeping with how i feel. I dont suffer hypos easily nor there symptoms due to one of my bp tablets but my meter keeps me right. I can rely on it 99% of the time. None are 100% accurate.
Try a few to get the one for you.
Websites for 2nd hand ones if companies don't send you one. Gp practice gets reps dropping meter to them all the time. There yours!
Let me know how you get on! :)

Morning all, I was having some problems logging on this morning but it's all better now :) I'm going out early today, warm temperatures and hot flushes are not a good combination! I was tossing and turning last night and my fbg was 7.2 this morning so I need a good walk to bring it down. Hope everyone has a good day
