Can we eat chocs like maltesers? If so how much? Unknown sounds like a dumb question

Sorry @Aamena1980 Unfortunately most of us can't eat chocs without spiking our blood glucose levels. I'm sure Liam is only going to have two or three. If you test your blood before and two hours after eating high carb foods like chocs your meter reading will tell you the effect they have had on your blood sugar. Sadly most of us can't tolerate high-carb food

Thanks @13lizanne and @hankjam. Appreciate the feedback. Haven't got a monitor yet, looking into options for purchasing one as I can't get one through the GP, and even the cheapest ones
Are quite expensive.

@Aamena - We all respond differently to types of food, what works for one person may not work for another. The best way to see is by using your blood glucose meter, and this will then give you a good idea of how your body has reacted to a certain food.
A Blood Glucose Meter is a vital piece of a Diabetics equipment.

I'm not out dining till Thursday
@ cumberland. Thought you were gonna go out tonight, might have somat to do with my old age!!!! You have that lovely pleasure to look forward to! ha ha. But have a great night Thursday. Sure you will. Yeh I could just eat some chocolate, was in sainsburys but resisted the temptation. While I was there some lovely old man started to talk to me about cereals on offer! Possibly lonley. But he said they were good for him cos sugar wasn't to bad! But carbs were 69.5 per 100 gram! He didn't know about the effects of carbs so I quickly, simply explained so as not to upset or get him confused, he was a diabetic 2. Lovely polite man. How's the Iocked door going? Hope the key doesn't get lost

@liam1955 I've just decided I should have taken pictures before I started work on the two beds. Then at least you could see what I have been doing. My scratched arms are proof that I personally will never plant a hawthorn hedge! I hope you are enjoying your maltesers. :)

Anna, you think he's only going to have 2 or 3? I expect you mean bars :Dxx

@mo53 - Do be careful in the garden with prickly shrubs and alike. If I was you I would put some antiseptic cream over the scratch marks. I know how hard you have worked in your garden Mo, it would be nice to see it when it's finished and share it with everybody on the Forum. :) Wx

Hi @Aamena1980
A lot of people on here use the SD codefree from Homehealth
http://homehealth-uk.com/product-category/blood-glucose/blood-glucose-monitor/
and here for the extra strips
http://homehealth-uk.com/all-products/sd-codefree-test-strips-to-be-used-only-with-the-sd-monitor/

Pharmacies don't sell them. There are discount codes if you buy in bulk
5 packs 264086
10 packs 975833

If you're UK then you will want mmol/L. You also need to tick that you have diabetes then you don't pay VAT.

The reason is that the strips are the cheapest that we have found.

Also can be found on Amazon I understand but I ordered direct from Homehealth.

Watching Eurovision's last hour, looks like it's been good this year, haven't watched it last few years because of political voting ( and boredom) Quite a few good songs. Are you watching?

I'm not long in. Went for a meal and popped in to see my big sister and her kids/grandkids. Got a migraine now lol. Makes me appreciate the peace and quiet in my own house. Tired and it is pretty chilly outside but it was a sunny day. ;)
