Hi folks, hope it's a good one all round.

I'm not feeling too good today, we had a phone call this morning telling us 1 of our nieces had died yesterday. I'm so sad about it. It is less than a year since my sister-in-law (her Mum) lost her husband (hubby's brother), in her words, she's devastated and heartbroken. So if I'm not doing much joining in today, please excuse me.
Oh, Karen - I'm so sorry to read this. What a terrible thing to happen! Your poor sister-in-law must be completely traumatised and I can't imagine how she can even begin to deal with this tragedy so soon after the loss of her husband. It must be so hard for you as a family to understand why this has happened, and I hope you have a lot of friends and family to help you through this. All your friends here on the forum will want to offer our love and support in any way we can, and we're thinking of you at such a sad time. Huge hugs xxx

I"ve never been convinced on LCHF. I'm not convinced on the NHS eat well plate either. Diet is an individual thing, what works for you may not work for others. :)

I do know that since going on the DAFNE course I have in general seen a reduction in my readings and using the method of Dose Adjustment For Normal Eating and using correction doses plus carb counting appears to be doing me well
For a long time my average readings were in the 20's they are now hovering around the 8-10 mark, HbA1c is down from 73 to 55 I'm in my ideal weight category
Cutting down on portion size has also helped I have not cut out all carbs and I won't as I love my spuds, pasta etc too much BUT cutting them down by less portions a wee bit I'm sure has been beneficial
I still intend to have the odd KFC treat now and then nothing not even wild horses will stop that

The support on this forum is fantastic so many share great advice I'm glad I managed to find it

You've left me feeling shattered just reading what you've done!! Mind you I have just come in from doggy walk. Wasn't as far as we wee going to go but he wanted to go down the path to Sainsbury's (again) I'm sure he knows it's a shorter walk.. or maybe he can smell food....but he's only do e it two out of his last 3 walks and its our regular route. Was hard work today and must have taken the same 30 mins for the shorter route. Am so glad he did turn there tho. Nice cuppa tea methinks before doggy teas
He's obviously got your best interests at heart - he knew you were tired! :)

I have Asperger Syndrome which is an autism spectrum condition and a full diagnosis of Adult ADHD which are characterised by impairments in social communication, social interaction and social imagination. I also have a rigid and somewhat unpredictable routine. I also experience obsessive rituals, some a bit overwhelming. But I have a talent in articulate creative writing skills and possess a photographic rote memory. I have sensory sensitivity and get upset by loud noises, bright colours or lights, and notice the texture and consistency of certain foods more making my dietary choices extremely limited or restricted to certain food components. I dislike conflict and lies. The Adult ADHD also makes me very moody and cross.
Good Evening to all my lovely friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk Type 2 Life forum for today, Sunday 15th May, 2016,

I am writing to post that I had a very stressful day today when I noticed due to my carelessness that I'd misplaced my blood glucose meter and experienced inherent anxiety and some animosity towards my friend Lee who I have been observed by care providers of being exploited by. After I had a meltdown, manifest in my autistic spectrum disability and making accusative remarks about how his friend who visitted the other night who another friend informed my was a thief due to her substance misuse problem, Lee refused to speak to me telling me to go away but with some hurtful and colourful language. Lee has a diagnosis of addictive personality and paranoid schizophrenia with occasional suicidal ideation. He has been known to target vulnerable adults to finance his substance abuse habit and extort money from those individuals without mental capacity as I have been diagnosed of being susceptible to with my ASD,

I have been feeling depressed all day and somewhat cheated and taken advantage of and deeply worried about how I'm going to test my blood glucose and record it on www.diabetes.co.uk/low carb website but another friend, a supportive friend who doesn't take advantage of me and advises me when I'm being 'taken for a ride' said I can approach my health centre and explain to them what happened and request a new meter. I could do with a new one so this was good advice because the meter I misplaced was low in LCD batteries and I was using the finger pricker from a previous meter called One Touch Verio and not changing the lancets very much of it.

I've also ordered a free blood glucose meter through this organisation, namely www.diabetes.co.uk, but not this forum, but the wider organisation, so I may not have to approach the health centre.

I feel a bit better now but have next to no appetite and haven't eaten much today apart from some food my Greek friend Ioanna gave me and a couple of slices of Marmite on Toast.

I believe as well as having ASD I am also susceptible to a clinical depression diagnosis.

I can't take my blood glucose but take care everyone and thanks for being there for me with your awesome advice and humanitarianism.
