Type 2 Life

Good morning, my lovely, sweet, caring friends,

On waking this morning I had a fasting blood glucose reading of 6.7 and then a beautiful friend, a nice lady with a mental health and a learning disability that lives with my good friend Steve brought me a lovely smoked cheese, ham and tomato pizza of which I had a few slices because I was beginning to feel a bit peckish. A little while afterwards, not as long as 2 hours I know, my blood glucose was only 7.9! Nowhere as bad as the 18.1 blood sugar I had yesterday after eating those chip butties.

I've taken my meds both for my ADHD and Asperger Syndrome meltdowns and am waiting for Mary to come back for a coffee after she washes up hers and Steve's dishes from a cauliflower cheese dinner he cooked last night.

Much love to you all.

Morning folks, I'm a happy bunny today - my fbg was 6.5 and I weighed 11 st 8 this morning. I weighed 12 st 4 on diagnosis so I'm happy with that :) Hope everyone has a good day, I'm off to mums later so I know I will

Checking in from the South of France where I can report it is raining :( I don't need anyone to tell me it's glorious weather at home LOL - looks better later though and campsite is almost on the beach so might even get a swim in the Med.

Managed to keep my numbers in 4/5s yesterday - with 4.9 average per MySugr. Shopped sensibly so I have good food, even bought LivLife bread with me. Felt kind of sad I can't enjoy the gorgeous cream cake my partner bought (he did ask me first!) but maybe one day :)

Find travelling the hardest but learning. Learnt French for carbs is Glucides - now studying labels in French :) eating out isn't easy but as I love cooking that is fine. I'll suffer over the cooker for better BG. Our campsite will hire 200 litre fridge/freezers so will be organised in August when we are here again.

Enough of my rambling .. sorry, going to brave the showers and head to the campsite cafe for a Cafe Creme :)
The cream part of the cake would've been ok
Apart from the rain sounds nice over there. Best get dressed and out into the sunshine ... Ooh, did I mention ... Think I'll do bit of gardening whilst I'm doing the dogs today
Hope it brightens up for you soon

@Sable_Jan I asked for that :)) sun has now appeared so I'm off to the beach and will try a swim (if not too cold!) - enjoy your garden and the sunny weather, everything is better when the sun shines :)

We are off to the fair this afternoon. They have set up a temp. one for the weekend. The plan was to go yesterday but had a hangover from too much vodka at funeral. :(
White sky here. In search for the blue stuff and any yellow would be perfect.
I'm still reeling from my 6lb weight loss this week. ;) :) :)

Have a great day, Johnny - don't forget the sweeteners in that coffee with Mary, and stay away from those nasty chip butties! Did you know that if you just eat the topping off the pizza and leave the crust, your BG will probably stay low?
You're winning, my friend!
Hugs

By just having those few slices of pizza you've shown yourself how portion control is as important as what you eat. With it not being two hours your bg could actually be higher than the results would be at two hours...most people peak somewhere in the first hour of that two hours. I often peak at 2.5 hours so for new foods I test at 2, 2.5 and 3 hours if bg is still rising. If the 3 hour one is back down I stop.
I find the thin and crispy pizza is much better for bg

Thanks @Sable_Jan I'm quite pleased I've started losing weight again. I did hit a bit of a plateau (losing weight is so much harder when you're past 40!) but I stuck to the LCHF and it's paying off.

Good evening, my lovely, good friends,

At 2:30 pm today I had a microwave oven cooked jacket potato which I microwaved on full power for ten minutes as it was quite a large one. I had a light sprinkling of salt and black pepper on it. It took five minutes to eat it and then between 2:35 pm I hydrated myself with 4-5 glasses of tap water. Then at 4:20 pm I had another jacket potato with salt and black pepper because I was still a bit peckish. Then between 4:35 pm and 4:45 pm I consumed a further 4-5 glasses of tap water.

At 5:30 pm I enjoyed a cup of coffee with coffeemate and two sweeteners.

And between 6:05 pm and 7:45 pm I drank approximately 7-8 glasses of tap water.

And at 7:50 pm I took my blood glucose and it was a very healthy 5.7 mmol.

Have a lovely evening my good friends.

@Diamum5972 congrats on weight loss. If your worried about difficulty in losing weight when you get to 40+. Wait till you get to 60+. much harder believe me, I've thrown so much out so as not to be tempted, keep up the good work

Thanks Maureen, I know how hard it is for my mum to lose weight and she's 70. Luckily she is open to new ideas so she is my low carb guinea pig :)
