Type 2 Life

Morning all, sorry for my absence recently - I was dashing about like a clockwork mouse last week! I've found out I've been shortlisted for a job in Warwick so I've been researching travel options.
Ooh, fingers well and truly crossed for you

Hi Debra - Yes, I am seeing GP this morning. Thanks:)

How did it go? Saw a new GP with my OH last week and she kept quoting the '10 minutes only per appointment' rule at him - didn't go down too well.

Hope your visit was productive and helpful?

So did mine. Something to do with more iron
You need to test before and after meals to get a proper picture. You may be doing better than you think. The fasting test is a very unreliable indicator as its the most difficult to control. If you test before and after meals you will see how much certain foods make your bs rise and learn which to avoid or cut your portion size. Obviously as you found exercise affects this so for instance sausages mash & beans may give a big rise yet if you go down to the allotment after you may have no, or very little rise. Hope this helps

Thanks, I think I may be doing better than I think, especially after that 5.2 reading. HB1ac blood test on Wednesday so will see. Its been a bit bumpy this quarter because of my complete intolerance of metformin. So let's see what the numbers say. Thanks for your reply, appreciated.

Anybody used silicon baking trays/moulds for baking ? I bought a heap of them a while ago but haven't used them and used the metal ones instead. Are they better ? Doubt I will be eating hard stuff but will try debrasue's low carb scones later this week. :)
I use them and there great . A lot easier to wash than the metal ones. No need to grease them either.

I might have to stop using the forum on my iPhone. My fat fingers keep hitting the wrong button - and I'm voting people's comment as Funny rather than Winner! Or Creative rather than Friendly.

Hope I don't offend anyone ;)

I use them and they're excellent. @GeoffersTaylor has tried some recently too. and got on pretty well with them, I think.

Good Afternoon, my lovely friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk Type 2 Life Forum,

I am back at Tate South Lambeth Public Library today updating you all on my concerning 10.7 blood sugar after eating yet another café fried breakfast with devil carbs. My wifi is still not operational in my little flat. I was happy when my replacement council-paid disability pass arrived today which the old one I lost on 12th May, 2016.

@debrasue that's awesome common-sense advice about asking the café proprietors if I could omit the hash brown, chips and toast because it spiked my blood sugar insubordinately.

Have a lovely day today although it's very wet, unclement and unpleasant weather-wise in South London today.

hugs!!

Hi, Johnny! I'm sure the cafe will be happy to change your breakfast order around a little bit - after all, I imagine you and Lee must be pretty good customers there, and I'm sure they'll want to keep you coming back!
Bacon, good-quality sausages (with a high meat content and low or no cereal), tomatoes, mushrooms, eggs, eggs and eggs are all brilliant breakfast foods on LCHF, and perhaps now and again, as a special treat, you could have a hash brown, a few beans, or even a slice of fried bread. But not all the time, And only ONE carb per meal. ;)
Keep on winning!
Hugs

I've been doing it for months, since it was changed from like only. Too small the icons. :(

Hi @eddie1968 - Glad that you have recovered from your recent illness.:) How did the baking go? @13lizanne is away for the week. I'm not much fun at the moment, knee trauma set off Sciatica, which made my Herniated Disc's play up, and pain is sending my blood sugars and me = 'Crazy'!!
I've missed you William @liam1955 but i didnt want to push anything.

I need you to try supplement r-ala as it's a big help. Im reducing my insulin and losing weight. Please consider a try.
If you want me to I'll lend you 7 days of mine to try, so you dont feel youre waiting your money. It works instantly. Amazon, at its best.
I know im a fool advertising it as it increases the price but it works for me and i want you to benefit too. My friend.
Message me if i can help you out. ♡♥♡

How did my 'Twin' @eddie1968 get on at the Doctors this morning? :) I saw my GP this morning and he was SHOCKED that X Ray allowed me to go home (7days ago) and tell me to see my GP in 7 - 10 days!!!! I have a 'Hairline' Fracture of the Patella (kneecap) and ruptured the Synovial Membrane. I then saw the Practise Nurse and my leg is strapped up, got anti-inflammatory gel to use as often as I want/need, and Furosemide to get rid of the Odema. I mentioned that it is like a 24/7 toothache the pain and night time it just throbs all night !!!! I have to keep the weight of it, elevate my leg as much as I can, and do gentle exercises. About 20 minutes is all I can manage to walk, still cannot bend my knee. Have to go back and see GP in 14 days time.
I am seeing the Rheumatologist on Friday about my Spine Arthritis and have got to mention my Knee.

@KevinPotts
Ah yes, used to use their mail order sometime ago... not too sure why we stopped... possibly because we have Maj quite close.

Well I'm home from hols, it's tipping it down big time in Cambridge, so I've gone and tracked down the amazing Grey Wacke Sauvignon Blanc, simply the best I've EVER tasted, even along side Cloudy Bay and also Pentoz Shiraz, up there again with the best.

Discovered these two in Norfolk of all places whilst holidaying this week.

A case of each has been purchased ....merry Christmas everybody:)

We were all shocked too!! Couldn't believe it!! And all because you went on a "routine" x-ray doctors note instead of the "emergency" A&E. Couldn't believe it! My friend was similarly shocked when I told him (he knows knee pain all too well) and the first thing he said was "what if it's broken....." He's just had x-ray himself day after, that's how it came up. He's got a 7-14 day wait too but his is in going and looking like a replacement this time.
All the best with yours healing well and the gel keeping the pain under control
