Type 2 Life

Morning. Yawn, 2nd cuppa (both caffeine) as I am sluggish this morning. Just about to do insulin and FBG 7.3 mmol/l. Weather's to be **** all week here so bummer. Roll on July, @liam1955 hope your joints are not so sore and the injections are working. I have had two corticosteroid injections on my left shoulder. They took about a week to kick in but alas didn't solve the problem and had surgery for a badly healed fracture. I have had oral corticosteroids twice post surgery on my bowels but they made me put on a lot of weight and probably contributed to my T2 diabetes. I also had to be tapered off them and carry a warning card and hated taking them. It's a balancing act- pain vs some side effect. I noticed corticosteroids gave me insomnia, watch out for it. Get well soon. For everyone else who is having a tough time I wish you all the best. My thrush is starting to clear so that's good news. Have a nice day ! :)

I am so pleased You All like the Avatar :D, just want to hear what @debrasue has to say? I promise @13lizanne to be 'good' after this one! :D:D
I totally LOVE it!!!!! I wish I'd seen it before you nabbed it. :)
Where on earth did you find it?
It works on all levels for me - funny, saucy, defiant and Minions in thongs. Perfect!
(Very disappointed to hear you promising to be good hereafter, though - I sincerely hope that's not the case! You have a reputation to uphold, sweetie - get a grip! LOL)
:p

Morning all, I've got a busy day today - mum was reminiscing about her old house in Rugby yesterday so I said I would go over there and take some pictures this afternoon. Then this evening a friend from my knitting group is running a bike ride through town for newby bike riders. The last time I rode a bike was when I used to nick my brother's Chopper when we were teenagers so I think I qualify!

Thanks @eddie1968 - Since my last drug related Thrush, I decided to eat more natural yoghurt, so I buy a 1kg pot of Greek Yoghurt at a time and eat some for breakfast and supper and have several spoons of it during the day. But having had that drug = Dapagliflozin stopped a month ago I am free from thrush. :) Still No effect from Steroids, they have not worked. (Only raised blood sugars slightly).
@debrasue - I might have told a 'porky' yesterday:D I go on line when bored and look for silly, naughty captions.

Nervous about seeing specialist today. Will he or won't he let me have metformin to try again, to reduce my insulin needs? Hba1c increased to 61 from 54 because of canagliflozin. I'm praying metformin if granted won't do the same.
I'm taking 55 and 60units of mixed insulin ehich only lasts 8hrs.
Unless a longer acting insulin would help me more?
I guess it's a good job I'm seeing nurse first, then dietician afterwards. I'll be lucky if I'm out within the hour. Son is still ill and awaiting GP callback. Since I'll have to mute my mobile his dad is taking the call.

@ickihun - Good Luck Vicky today. Hope it is a productive and beneficial consultation. (fingers crossed for you) big hugs - Let me know about your young Son too. William x

Good luck today Vicki, I hope that they get your meds sorted properly. I hope that your wee boy gets the help he needs to get better today as well. Well all be thinking of you

Challenging day for you today, Vicky. We're all rooting for you and your son, and sending lots of love, support and positive vibes over the airwaves. Big hugs xx

William I have metformin back. Silly me mixed up my appointment time. I refused his hospital prescription as the queue is normally heavy and I'm now waiting for gp to reinstate my repeat and send me some 500mg SR. I have none til doctors receive consultants letter and process. At least I have it reinstated. I will tell you once they arrive. I have so much riding on them working for my pcos and bgs/less insulin. Fingers crossed. :)

Good afternoon, my lovely friends,

I had a fairly mixed sort of weekend but it went ok. My bg was 5.9 today.

Son isn't getting any worse so gp adviced me to continue him on water only and calpol when can. When he keeps it down.
I guess that's him off this week. They have to have 2 days clear before they can return.
I don't mind. I enjoy his company. He slept better last night so let's see what tonight brings.
Hubby has bought me a treat. So I'm off to munch it.
Thank you everyone who supports me. You are my wonderful darlings! Especially you @liam1955 .♡♥♡

Thanks @debrasue . Your vibes have worked.
Hoping to start metformin some time next week. I have my normal gp back on friday so only he can print off my results....apparently. I'll ask him to reinstate metformin if delay from consultant.
Liver looks good. No sign of fatty liver still. Consultant is happy with hba1c 61.
I'm hoping the no fatty liver will help me not rejecting the metformin. :)

@ickihun - What brilliant news, so very pleased you got the Metformin.:) But, how long till GP gets communication from Hospital Specialist? Hope it's not too long a wait. I look forward to hearing daily reports once you begin it.
Oh, your poor boy:(, but at least he has been seen by a Dr and You at least have got peace of mind, you can now relax and de-stress. Wonderful News Vicky. William xx

Home, shattered and hungry. Pre tea time injection 5.1 mmol/l. Sunny spells and breezy. :)

How is the thrush medication panning out? I hope things are alot better.
I saw your message earlier about your sleeping aid needs adjusting. I hope that gets done soon so you can have better quality sleep. We all deserve that.
Good job you havent got a baby in the house. It would be a disaster. You would just get off to sleep when they start.
At least there is an end to your symptoms and a show of great promise. Hope it all gets sorted soon mate. :)
