I got a surprise this morning, FBG 4.9 which is strange as I havnt been eating properly. We also have the first proper frost this morning, everything is white so Im staying inside :)

Thanks a lot, we had a great day. Even though the show was over priced and overcrowded we both managed to get what we wanted then went into Birmingham town centre for some more reasonably priced shopping! My friend showed me some gorgeous fabric shops that I hadn't been to before. Although we got caught out by a surprise rain shower (which didn't help my cold!) we both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. DS did well too, he went to meet some friends at a festival all by himself. The festival is held in our War Memorial Park which is a 15 minute walk out of the town centre so he met his friends at the bus station and they walked up there. Proud mum moment!

Went to a similar show years and years ago. Couldn't afford ANYTHING. expected to get bargains but my knitting and sewing stuff I could buy cheaper at local wool shop or by post from craft magazine ads...pre internet days....it was mega busy then too

Care to share the fabric shops?
We will probably go to the NEC in Birmingham later this year but also have a fabric addiction .... so would love to visit some shops there too ....

Afternoon. FBG 7.7 mmol/l. Thrush has gone (eventually !). Weather is horrible, heavy rain and breezy. I'm on leave for 2 weeks now and going abroad doesn't appeal with poor exchange rates at the moment. :)
 
Anybody offering cheap B&B ? Only those members living in posh accommodation and desirable areas get in contact. I'm desperate for a break lmao :rolleyes::D

PS: I do dishes and hovering for a deep discount lol. :p

Oh Eddie. I had a self-contained granny flat under my last property in Rye, East Sussex with quayside view where George clooney shot Monuments of men.
Sorry just got a smaller bungalow in Sunderland now.
Thats what expensive kids do to your bank balance!
I can recomment the new Hilton hotel next to Stadium of Light now out of football season. Will be a lot cheaper. Do you like to swim? Next door to the Olympic pool.
New York press slated Sunderland town centre but then so does most of its residence. Thats why they voted Leave.

We sold our house and moving in the not too distant future the garden was getting a wee bit too much for me

Moving to a house with a much smaller garden

LOL ...us too. Need a break but have settled for a 4 night weekend break in Liverpool ... so lookin forward to it

Just make sure you get plenty of "me" time when you are off ... do lunch with friends x

Never appealed to me at all. Only border crossing I'd consider is up into Scotland

Liverpool doesn't sound the kind of place weekend beaks are made of..... give me grass, trees, babbling brooks.....
