Type 2 Life

Thanks Maureen. Yes, I've tried cool spray, deep freeze cream, Voltarol gel, Ibuleve, paracetamol, diclofenac and oxycodone quick release. It's numbing the pain, but I still can't walk without two crutches and severe pain. My left knee won't hold me, despite the crutches, so I have to just slide my feet rather than take proper steps. :(
Sounds just like me, I drag my feet along, tried everythink, they won't give me knee or hip replacement cos if it goes wrong I've had it, can't put weight on othere leg, they worry about infection also on worse foot, not much we can do just keep going, do hope you feel better soon

No, I haven't tried those, although I generally feel more comfortable when cold than hot, especially around my feet and legs, as I don't want that darned cellulitis back!
Thanks for thinking about me, and I think it is easing a little now, because I am purely resting today.
It's probably a wake-up call for being complacent and overdoing things yesterday - like many of us, I'm great at looking after others, but very bad at looking after myself properly sometimes. (I remember you quite rightly advising caution a few days ago!)
Thanks for your support, William - it's much appreciated. :)
I use heat pads on my back & neck, tried exspensive but don't last long, wilkinsons. Own 2 for 99p last longer & good, just thought I'd say if you do try them. Good luck with the pain hope you get well soon

@ickihun - Vicky, have made a note of the date and look forward to it with the greatest of joy. Going to think where we can go for Coffee and a Right Gab. :D. William x
York will be "Busy" with it being Bank Holiday weekend. All the 'bloody tourist' will be visiting!:D :D

R is welcome too. Marcus is chatty so they can chat whilst we can too. Marcus will have to watch kids too.
Is there a coffee shop right next to minster where road train puts us off?
Unless you want to meet inside the museum if raining? They have a big cafe which is airy but enclosed. Or maybe sit outside inside the museum grounds at the back. Then kids can play in kiddies area and leave us alone?
Anything for a peaceful life. Ha ha

Evening everyone ,hope you've all had a good day. Ron has been fine so far although something weird happened at tea time. One minute he was sat eating then he just stopped and sat with a confused look on his face. I asked him what the matter was and he said he was doing something but couldn't remember what . So I told him we were having tea but he couldn't remember . He said he could taste cheese and I said we had a salad and cheese was part of it. He seems ok but it didn't half put a scare in me . Last time it happened he was in the bath. Is this something to do with diabetes?

@tina_marie Hi tina that is worrying for you I'm sure it may be an idea to call your GP and ask for advice or maybe give the neurology department a call tomorrow Elaine the PP3 is very nice and helpful and there should be a consultant about even if there is no clinic on Judith thinks there may well be, but is unsure which Neurologists are in tomorrow.

I am unsure whether it is diabetes linked or not.

Hi guys. I think this may be what is called generalised absence seizures, and it's to do with MS. They're not that common, but there's no need to be worried because they're not dangerous and will be controlled by Ron's medication. You just need to tell your medical team next time you see them, so they're aware.

I know easier said than due but was he having a hypo (on his meter reading)?
I understand some hypos can cause a similiar reaction. Diabetic spaced out/vague. One of my friends (the wife) called an ambulance as his was too heavy for her to handle the possibility of a collapse. The hypo was treated.
Tina don't hesitate to call for medical help.
Is he ok now?
