Type 2 Life

Realised today that the key for me is to keep eating and stay hydrated.

Today this didn't happen. Running around all day, didn't eat until lunch 3:30pm, then dinner 7pm ish and munched every since. Around 14 Peters Farm biscuits with butter - nearly 30g of carbs. Also eaten 2/3 of a bar of 85% chocolate. I'm going to have a rubbish FBG tomorrow, but finally realised I have to eat every few hours. And drink water water and more water!

Predicting 7.5/7.8 tomorrow - and I deserve it.

Sometimes this is so hard :arghh:

You never know you might get a surprise. Depends if your Liver dumps at 3am ish or not. Do a tiny block with red wine or cheese but if cheese just 2 dice size cubes. Goodluck. ♡♥♡ Fingers crossed for you. V

Totally agree! I've been proofreading all day to a very tight deadline, and didn't have time to get any proper meals, so I picked at anything which was easy to grab and go - an apple, packet of crisps, a pack of luncheon meat and a banana. Takeaway curry and poppadom for dinner. Life gets in the way sometimes, and I need to learn to plan for it better.... :(
Been sitting at my desk for too long today now and both ankles and hips feel as if they're broken! :inpain: And I have to do it all over again tomorrow and Sunday...
:bigtears:

A tiny block of red wine ... is that 2/3 of a bottle ....

If it doesn't work I know how to get back on track, I'll be a good boy tomorrow - friends coming for dinner but it's a LCHF meal, all prepared!

Maybe we should cut ourselves some slack and just accept we can't be perfect diabetics all the time? We are both managing it, bot ignoring it - and I think that is a huge step forward.

Good luck for tomorrow and Sunday x

PS but POPPADOMS .... totally jealous :)

A tiny liver block i ment. Ha ha maybe a block/box of red wine. Or why stop there. A crate even. Wow a detour after a block that one. Ha ha

Paid for it though - 8.1 +2pp :( But 5.8 this morning, so it's not all doom and gloom:)
Have a lovely weekend xx

I am having episodes of very low mood when I ride my sugars too low. I'm always more myself ranging in the 6s. I don't mind starting on 5s but 6s are more energetic and kinder on my moods.
I'm enjoying the reduced monitoring and relaxing into set insulin for my holiday and xmas.
I've done a lot of hard work to reduce my insulin needs over the past 12mths. My weight loss is going to be my priority now. Even with walking difficulties I believe I can aim for weight loss but I'll have to exercise patience. Some specialist state exercise is only 5% of the problem so let's see.
Now is the time for calm enjoyment and occasional monitoring with no silly risks.
2017 is indeed a new year for me! Furthermore younger son starts school in Sept so I'll be free a few hours to concentrate on ME.
Nursery hours are filled with jobs needed to be done without a toddler seeing or interference. Mostly unhindered shopping. Just dragging my heavy knackered body around on a crutch instead. God it's always something weighing me down or hindering me. Luckily I'm used to being held back so I'm used to fighting that much harder. Health permitting. ;)

@ickihun - Hello Vicky my Friend :).
Strange is that!! But, when my fasting's are in the 5's I always feel sluggish and Moody? But, when they are in the 6 - 7 bracket, I feel so much energetic and happier?
Do you find Heat brings out pain? Or does Cold work for You?
If Heat works? Get some of those Heat Pads (2 for a £1.00 from Home Bargains) don't apply directly to your skin, but stick them on the side part of your Knickers just where your hip is and see if it has any effect on your hip joint. I feel for you suffering and just cannot understand why? You have not been sent to have a MRI Scan
It would be nice if the first Grandchild could be born tomorrow - Sunday (30th) then I could look forward every year with Joy, rather than with gloom!!! (Mum's 6th Anniversary) :) William xx

I hope baby GIRL is born tomorrow too. If not at least they will both have their seperate days to be remembered on. Your mum deserves her own day of remembering her wonderfulness and strengths. After all she had you William, that is itself it to be celebrated. I'm thankful she gave me you, my friend. She must have been wonderful. I must be told more about her next time we meet. ♡♥♡

Ps. Not hip joints, at all. Its my pelvic joint, inside and connecting to my spine. I've been diagnosed with inflammation and they're hoping I'll go away. I'm hoping I'll go away too. Ha ha I have to have bariatric surgery next year so maybe that will take it away. I'm costing them money so they aren't in any hurry to spend more. No doubt. Afterall we diabetics are bankrupting the nhs.
If it had been picked up when I was a child maybe I wouldnt be so heavy, eh?

@ickihun - Vicky, That sounds like Ankolysing Spondilytis to me! My Aunt has that and I was checked out for it - results are not back yet. As you know I have Arthritis in the last 3 Lumbar Vertebrae, but what kind ? Well, I still don't know - have had multiple x rays and waiting for Bone Scans to happen = 6 weeks have waited. And I disagree about 'us' costing the NHS a lot of £'s. I worked for the NHS and gave them 26 yrs of Blood, Sweat & Tears. And saved them thousands of £'s caring for my Mum for 9 years who had Alzheimer's. No, I don't feel guilty one bit! :)

Hypo again as late having lunch. I reduced my insulin this morning too. I wonder where these hypos are coming from. Only diet change is bread.

Me too. I used to pay £500 a month tax as various times in my 3 job at times working life. Yes i earned good money in London but i paid for the priviledge! Ive worn myself out with shift-work and long hours on top of a divorce. Meeting mr ickihun was a breath of fresh air. Shifts started again having babies Then a night job 20miles away with toddler during the day to keep us afloat. Im all shift-worked out.

GP said spondylitis shows itself by hip pain. Because i have no hip pain, no spondylitis.

But, the Coccyx and tailbone and ilium all fuse together and become rigid in Spondylitis - which is what I thought would be deep internal pelvic pain. But, Vicky - You 'need' to have some sort of MRI Scan or Ultrasound Scan.!??

@Liam1955 and @ickihun I'm clicking all the buttons for you two! Like, agree, winner and hugs galore over here :) You two have been through so much and yet are the friendliest and most supportive people I know, I'm proud to call you my friends

Both gps have refused. I'm seeing diabetic nurse in 2wks time for some back up. If she agrees I will ask specialist to request my gp to investigate. It is effecting my insulin volume.

@Diamum5972 - :D:D:D Your Laptop will be overheating!!! Aw Bless Barbara, You are so Sweet:cat:. You could not believe what it was like when Vicky and I met!!! = non-stop talking, not even for a breath!!!!!! I felt I had known Vicky forever.:)
But, You Barbara always put others first and think of their needs before your own. That is what makes "us" special to one another in our little group. Please, by all means join in - you are very welcome Barbara and I would be interested to hear your views. William x:)

What is their (GP's) problem??????
It is better to do tests etc to rule out this and that and find out if it could be more serious. Or could it be because you are Young???
But then Vicky, it could well be the Budget allocated to your Practise?
