Type 2 Life

Ah. Apologies.

Occupational Therapy is the ideal assessment body. They can also provide certain things, like grab handles, specialist stools to provide support/rest when doing standing tasks, hand rails in the other side to the banister, risers for the loo, risers for armchairs, ideas for safely dealing with hot saucepans and so on.

The Red Cross could still be worthwhile. We found them so kind and keen to help, with almost embarrassment when we wanted to make a donation.

I do hope you find a way of supporting his independence soon.
Thank you no apologies needed. I've found people on here most helpful and very supportive to each other . Also thank you for your support with the problem I had some months ago very much appreciated.

Funny you should ask that John we were just saying the other day that if this carries on much longer he might need one . There is a mobility shop in Sutton I've been looking at the ones they have in there . Couple of weeks ago we walked in to town and back it took Ron 2 hours . It's only 15 minutes from our house .
If he would like he can borrow mine for a while I am not using it at moment as trying to walk more just a thought it's just sitting in my front room it's not an on road one so a bit basic.but breaks down to go in a car boot.

Is it heavy to lift as that's another problem Ron has .no upper body strength.

It's not very heavy but the motor section is the heaviest part I have got it in the car without too much trouble but am unsre as to whether ron could manage it on his own.

But he could try it out if he would like and if he can manage it and would like to borrow it he is welcome.

Good Morning, my good, kind friends on the www.diabetes.co.uk Type 2 Life Forum,

My Fasting Blood Glucose Level, before Breakfast, today, 8:40 Ante Meridian - Greenwich Mean Time, on Sunday 30th October in the Common Era of 2016, was 6.3 Millimoles Per Litre. Yesterday, I relapsed on my LCHF Programme and consumed a lot of Bloomer Crusty White Bread with some Tuna Chunks With Chili Peppers and Mackerel Fillets in Tomato Sauce. Also, it included finely sliced Fairtrade Tomatoes and Finely Sliced Cucumbers.

I haven't eaten my Breakfast yet because I don't feel too hungry.

God Bless to all my friends and have a glorious day although it looks a bit grim out of my sitting room window in Stockwell, near Vauxhall, in South London.

Love From,

@autisticwonder1970 (Johnny David Baker, individual with Asperger Syndrome, a Neurodevelopmental Condition on the Autistic Spectrum and a complicated Enduring Mental Health Condition.

Wow. That's not fair. I didn't realise my brother-in-law was infact lucky to be diagnosed recently. It's it funny how you take things for granted. I didn't realise it is a postcode lottery. Move to sunderland for a month. I'd love the company. Ha ha.
Lol if I could afford it I'd be there like a shot!

Looking forward to a slow effort of Blackpool next Monday for a week. No children and with my mum and her nurse friend so feeling reassured. I'm looking forward to no childcare needs. Doing adult hobbies without having to consider young children. I might like it too much! Ha ha

Well I hope you have a very nice time in Blackpool - plenty to do there whatever the weather does

But hoping the weather is good for your visit

The kids will be ok and I'm sure you'll take them back some treats

Morning forum friends! Taken a weekend off worrying about 'the condition', sometimes worn down by th constant battle but I guess everyone is. Didn't go mad and eat cakes (as if!) but ate bread both evening when we had friends to dinner - although cooked LCHF meals both times. Today and yesterday the FBG was in the 7s. Disappointing but if I do LCHF and flush my body with water today I'm hoping it won't last long - it's a trial to see how long it takes to recover.

Starting taking cod liver oil today to see if it helps my joint. Had a bit of pain in my knee recently, someone recommended cod liver. Noticeably worse now the weather is changing - maybe I should just live in the South of France all the time :) it was fine there and no issue.

Just caught up with the forum and I love reading the supportive messages. Haven't had as much time to contribute recently as the work climate appears tougher now so more hours. Not the best when I'm trying to reduce stress. And overslept today so missed my swimming opportunity :(

Have a good Halloween friends, my treats this year will be cheese, cheese and more cheese :happy::happy:

Look @PenfoldAPD why are you stressing?
You definitely know what works for you. Luckily your able to exercise, for now. Dust those trunks down and get out there tomorrow. I wish I could. Im still having inflammed sacroilliac joint making walking very very painful. Kick this diabetes into place. Winter is going to be harder for many of us.
If your having difficulty, how about a rethink to get the same affect but in a warmer environment. We are looking for a decent hotel with a warm pool which isn't a trek to get there without pulling toddler with us. Many hotels dont allow kids in pool if not residents. Local pool is freezing. Brrrr!
Any ideas? Is swimming your only exercise?
It might need a rethink if no exercise is possible?
I know you. You'll solve this. Are you getting bored with your regular swimming venue? Liven things up? Step back and think what you would tell others to inject them with positivity. ;)

Morning @ickihun work is a bit tough now hence the stress, not as many people wanting work on their house - they are all worried about Brexit :) But today I'm been productive and chasing new leads, and we still have lots of great work, running a business is a little stressful in the current climate.
Trunks will be on tomorrow, maybe even later today actually. I still love swimming, my special time, and don't get bored - but a few days off has done me good. Might join a masters class to take it up a notch. All will be better tomorrow me thinks! Exercise is still fine for me so no alternate needed yet.
Sorry about your injury, hopefully it is on the mend? Hope you find a pool, swimming in cold weather is nasty - there is a 60m outdoor pool near us, not heated!!! I'm avoiding it :)

I need to stop moaning I think and just get on with it!

But life as a diabetic can be hard .... I'm in wonder at those those always have good FBG on no meds. But I know I can do it :)
