Gotta go to bed now, peeps - I'm hanging! (Although I might not be able to resist a quick raid via the iPad once I'm up there...)
Have a lovely evening, and let's hope everybody's feeling better tomorrow.
Big hugs xxx

Hello @Rose88 :) - What medication (if any?) are you taking for the Diabetes.
And the fact that you have been having tummy troubles all week could be responsible for pushing up your Blood Sugars.! When we are ill, stressed, worried, taking certain medications all have an effect on our Diabetes.

@Rose88 could it be a metformin upset tummy? If new to metformin it can take a few weeks to settle in. I'm on metformin again after a years break. I can feel its benefit now but it has on occasion upset my tum.
Welcome to the forums. Have you see @daisy1 's introductory info? I found it a great help and revert back to it from time to time for a refresher.

Hello @ickihun I was on SR metformin for many years and suffered with nausea, diarrhoea, bloating, and vomiting. Doctors just brushed it off and kept saying its the side effects of metformin and will settle. I also have IBS and a couple of years ago things got worse, had lots of tests done and was diagnosed with colitis  I no longer take metformin.
My diet is ridiculous and food is my enemy, I dont find eating a pleasure as I'm always having to be wary of how foods might effect me.
Anyway feeling brave, last week I wanted to try low carbing and introduced hard cheese .. I haven't had cheddar cheese for a long time and it let me know that it doesn't like me :yuck:

Have you tried taking the metformin with food, say half way through your meal?

No I havent seen @daisy1 introductory info yet.

Wow. Another diabetic with inflammation as a problem. It seems part and parcel with diabetes, for some.
I believe alot of research in inflammatory conditions are going on.
Im happy to look out for their findings.
If you look at @daisy1 's signature i believe there is a link to her info.

Hello @Liam1955 I was on SR metformin for a long time but had to stop taking it when I was diagnosed with colitis a couple of years ago. Then started 10mg forxiga which helped with weightloss but due to the colitis inflammation not settling my sugars were still too high. Then DN just handed me a prescription for humulin M3 mixed injections... she wasnt helpful at all.
I'm hoping to get my latest blood results this week .. I'd love to come off insulin as I've gained too much weight since I started it but not sure if they'll put me on some other medications.

Last weeks tummy upset started because I'd introduced hard cheese into my boring diet again :meh:

A reminder today I've much to learn ...

Feeling a bit low (mood not bloods!) so thought I'd go to the local 'sugar free' bakery http://romeossugarfreebakery.com/ - blood was 5.7 before going.

Had good chat with staff, they use coconut flour etc, they did stay it wasn't carb free but after a discussion I felt happy. I chose vegan cheesecake (not much choice). It was really tasty - one hour later, I'm at a whopping 10.2! Guess I won't be going there again and sugar free doesn't mean carb free!
