Type 2 Life

Morning troops

5.5 fasting and 0.4 blood ketones. So bloods still in the right direction. Slightly disappointed in ketones but think that is due to having too much protein (relative to the fat fast) due to running out of decaf coffee.

So to hit ratios today am going to kick off with a bps and same for lunch so will be able to know how much protein to play with at the end of the day.

Hi Lou

Miss you too. Been dipping in and out of various forums but very busy at work as well. Come on over to the fat fast thread. Going well for the 2 still standing.
Thanks Baruney I will have a look if I can find your hiding place

Can I join please even though I have given up testing in the morning because my liver thinks that I am starving to death and dumps glucose big time ! But I wanted to add that walnuts go very well with the red wine and blue cheese

4.2 am complete with shakes this is driving me off my head lol

Hi @JoyceGlasgow. I think we're quite similar, in that the nearer to 4.0mmols we get, the headaches kick in bigstyle. Very unpleasant....and SO painful. I hope you feel brighter soon. Thought this pic might sum it up, and make you smile. X

Hi Alisonjane,
Great that I am not alone if it is not the shakes it is the thumping headaches. Must have been really wicked in a previous life.
The funnies are great and much appreciated, although I don't always take the time to say so.
Hope you keeping well.

Joyce

That's really cool on both counts. Not a drop has passed my lips since Saturday and going to see if I can push that to the end of the month.
Good heavens above - that's almost 5 whole days! I still see some people saying red wine has a good effect on their BGs but I didn't really see much difference. As I'll be in Spain next week I might see if the Spanish reds work better.

The only effect red wine has on my BGs is that after a bottle I don't care what the numbers are. :wacky:

Well it would be rude not to me thinks. Sun, holiday a nice glass of red and some wonderful low carb tapas. Prawns in rivers of olive oil and garlic, chorizo and chicken again in oceans of paprika garlic olive oil. Bbqd sardines. Iberian ham. Blue cheese. I could go on but I am drooling and torte ring myself now.

Have a great hols.

4.3 this morning.

Working today cos I swapped shifts cos my colleague needed today off. I dont normally do Fridays but shes diung my Monday so I still get my weekend off.

Morning troops

Bloods 4.8 fasting and blood ketones 1.2. Dead chuffed. In fact one could say chuffed to smithereens and all that nomsense!

Last day of the fat fast and in the place I want to be. Been pretty brutal to date due to recent carb creep and too much wine. Did you know about the hidden calories in a bottle of wine?Reckon there's at least another 800 that they don't tell you about.

@Merrylizard1314 and I are thinking about doing an exit from the ff. my aim would be to have fasting bloods 4 to 5. Morning blood ketones over 1.5 and continued weight loss at 1 to 2 lobs per week (after the adjustment) estimate to put on circa 40% of weight lost this week. Keep off the wine till end of the month. Keep fat ratio as high as possible but not worry about the cals now. It's been a joy not having to wash up but looking forward to cooking again. Work out best fuel strategy for 53 mile run walk on by August bank hols- want it to be as fat as possible but it's not very transportable friendly. Pork scratching so and bags of peanut butter got me round the marathon in April but as I'll have a backpack with me this time can have other stuff. Thinking tins of anchovies. Might try and freeze some cream cheese so how that hols. Def Mac nuts. If anyone has any suggestion it would be much appreciated.

Final report tomorrow then on the fat fast thread.

Beautiful day down here in saga central and forecast for the weekend is looking good. Unfortunately we are going to cockney land by the sea for the weekend and I've seen far to many of them in the last month or so.

Hi @Baruney. I'm not sure if my snacks of choice would be suitable for you. But they might be at some stage. Check out the following: http://www.biltongcompany.co.uk/?gclid=CP6FiIeUl8cCFSTItAodQV8Bjw I used it on a 10 mile hike in the Lakes & it perked me up no end. Lots of choice from this company too. I tried a couple of different 100g bag flavours until I found my favourite kind. Top quality stuff. X

Always liked George Michael. X

Hi folks. Seems alot of people are posting their FBG on this thread. Think I will too. It's good to have some familiar "faces" to bounce stuff off knowing I'll get spot-on advice. Unfortunately, I've got a runny nose & sore throat today, which may account for the higher than usual FBG at 7.0 this morning. Must admit, I do feel a tad grotty. Heading for the Olbas Oil & Vicks Vapour Rub. Ho hum. Best wishes & good health everyone. AJ. X
