Type 2s: What have you eaten today?

Breakfast: White toasted bagel with lots of butter - pre 6.3 post 5.8.....
Wouldn't normally buy "white" anything but it was in a "lucky box" of short dated stuff, thought I'd eat and test it
Dinner: 6 rashers of bacon on two thin slices of oat and linseed bread (homemade) think I forgot my "post" test...hmmm but was ok with same bread and a very ripe banana yesterday...went DOWN post
Tea: will be a salad of sorts at friends house so may well include pork pies and potato salad..

Found a strange thing whilst its been hot.... fasting bs a lot higher than usual but "post" readings going up less (or coming down) weird... no meds btw
 
6.8 today. I'm very surprised at my readings. 8.4 is highest this week despite eating food/meals I shouldn't!!

I'm new to this forum, but unfortunately not to diabetes. Diagnosed about four years ago but decided if I ignored it it would go away! Stupid I know. Anyway, finally decided to change my ways about three weeks ago, so here's what I've eaten today:

Fasting B/S- 6.2
Breakfast (Late) Two slices of whole meal toast with butter and a cup of tea

Lunch- Roast chicken dinner. This was a bit of a surprise so basically had to go with it and thought it would be a good experiment. Chicken, Stuffing, two yorkshires, two roast potatoes, 4 new potatoes, cauliflower, swede, peas, carrots and gravy. 7
I was pleasantly surprised with the results, B/S @1 hour:7.8 2 hours: 5.7 and 3 hours: 5.7. These seem ok to me?

Snack: Some strawberries
 
Couldn't be bothered to cook breakfast so has a toasted bag & butter with Marmite. Wasn't hungry lunchtime, so had an early-ish dinner of barnsley chop, cauli cheese diced potato roasted in garlic butter with the chops then strawberries & cream.

Dinner: A lentil dessert
Tea: Two cheese & onion rolls (sausage roll type), small can of baked beans, stewed plums sweetened with ginger skinny syrup and half pack of instant custard
Snack: 4 sugar free fibre biscuits.....maybe another snack later depending how well I sleep but quite full enough for now :D
 
Brunch: Slept in til 11am...so had two hot dog sausages(packet ones not in brine) two eggs..cooked in one spray of coconut oil and 15 grapes.
Tea: Salmon and broccoli wheat and gluten free pasta and 15 grapes.
Snack: One wheat and gluten free biscuit and 6 cashew nuts and 4 almonds.
 
Breakfast:
White toasted bagel..just one left now..well buttered
Dinner: 2 slices if multiseeded granary toast ...lots of butter
Snacks: bit of cheese, some red grapes....
Tea will be a chicken salad ie roast chicken with lots of "salads", cheese, tommies etc...
Tomorrow may be a better day foods-wise....been a to and fro day with two trips to vet and back, plus another round trip same distance and going out again later so 80miles plus of driving in all.....phew......
 
Usual oatmeal breakfast ..

WW biscuit

Slice of water melon

Lunch ... Cheese and salad roll

Tonight ... One roast potato , roast parsnips and carrots ... Green beans and leeks ..

What shall I have next .. Yogurt perhsps ... Feeling the need ...

Stuffed mushroom salad ..lunch

Tonight .. Those thin piklets .. With melted cheese on
And a yogurt ...
 
Too many bits and bobs to list....was one of those no proper meals days
The weather maybe , I feel a bit upside down today :rolleyes:
Eating has not been the normal ...
Maybe the new taste of zero fanta ... I am behind with this discovery ..:hungover:
 
Right,
Breakfast: equivalent of two slices seeded granary bread toast.....lots of butter......
Tea: will be large lightly battered cod, chips and peas...
Dinner: to be decided....
 
Thanks Sable Jan. Will definitely try that. Gone back down to 5.5 thankfully.
 
b/fast 2 slices white bread lots butter ,marmalade low suger
lunch(dinner)steak pie 3 small new pots, 1med orange
tea will be ham and pickle sandwich white bred small slice jam sponge
8.30 will be 2 wholewheat biscuits
pre brekki bs 4.2 1hr later 5.6
pre lunch 5.3 2hrs later 7.8
I must admit hot weather sends bs down as does cold so I try to eat anything in moderation
forgot 3 glasses water 4 cups tea already today
must be me as doc says not heard of this but my bs asually stays below 10.7 no matter what I eat and I DO NOT EXERCISE NEVER

Lunch cheese and tomato roll and apple

Sugar free biscuit

Tonight small portion of rice .. With my tofu and spinach cooked in coconut sauce with spices ..

There will be a laters , but not sure yet ..
