Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Maybe to often got to keep it in place sometimes
Hi @bigjim19 my BG was 5.8
We all deserve a treat I usually have mine at weekends, at the moment I love the chocolate covered stollen bites from Aldi and for some reason they don't spike my BG I have no more than two in a day though!K

Thank you for this Maxwell.

But where do you get your energy from if you have little carbs?

A year or so ago I would have posed the same question as you have. My route to better fitness was to do small amounts of walking each day until I could increase it. I started with 3000 steps per day which I did for 2/3 weeks until I increased it to 4000 steps and did this daily for another couple of weeks. Looking back its about regaining / retraining lost muscle strength. It took me a year of very small increments to get to where I am now. It's not glamorous nor a quick fix but works for me and possibly for you? It's a bit scary at first as blood sugars do go up with activity , at least mine did until I had the regime down. Best thoughts in all events

My “treats” are slowly starting to come back into play I stopped them
All but lately I’ve been treating myself to much on a regular basis so
I have to try and stop them again

That's why I limit my treats to the weekend only, and it gives me something to look forward too, when I started taking back treats after weight loss, like you went a bit OTT but no carb meals over weekend and small treat helps balance out the BG and so far I've done ok. But my BG is between 5/6s I don't take any diabetic meds just diet controlled, these BG levels are fine for me! Hope this helps. K

Thank you very much for the advice
Hi @NewTD2
My treats are 2 small chocolate covered stollen bites from Aldi at the moment, but testing yourself before and 2 hours after will give you a better idea of what treats work for you! We are all different and watch the carb intake especially when having a treat. Good luck K
