Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Totally forgot earlier today is exactly 3 years since I started LC. testing and recording. FBG that day was 7.1. Today, with no Metformin for 8 days it was 4.4. Reasonable ROI over 3 years.

Only just noticed this post from yesterday - what an achievement! Are you going to post in Success Stories?

@DJC3 I may sound a bit curmudgeonly but I am not going to post there as it took too long to get there - not happy about that. Secondly, i have no Hba1c to back it up but I feel right now it is satisfactory. I have targets for where I want a range of markers to be by June 2021 - my official pensionable age and Hba1c is part of those. Thank you very much for noticing and the suggestion - I just don't see it as a success just a waymarker:angelic:

I have to disagree, especially with your first point. I think the very fact that you are 3 years into the journey is inspirational.
Many people on here have reduced their numbers and managed to reverse / go into remission within a few months but that isn’t the case for all of us.
I think perhaps the quick turnarounds, although amazing and laudable can sometimes have a negative effect on people who are struggling and taking things a bit slower.
Us snails need role models too: put on that waistcoat!

@DJC3 Thanks again for the support but in my mind it is not coming home just yet:angelic: I need a longer run and ideally something official i.e. lab Hba1c confirmation. Only at semi final stage just yet I want to walk the walk not just talk the talk. I hide it very well but I can't stand bullsh*tters ;)- show us yer medals/cups is a good moto:angelic:

6.3 this morning . I think the festival on Saturday with the 6 cans magnets probably comin back to haunt me .. ah well I suppose in the great scheme of things 6.3 with a rise to 6.8 after brekkie in this heat ain’t so bad .

Fair enough. You’re still a winner in my book!
