Agree, including static cycling4.8 this morning.
a bowl of multigrain cereal (at least 22g carbs including 5g sugar) then an 8 mile cycle to work - 5.6 !
Two hours (and a full english) later - 5.3!
Folks, if you're in any way capable, you should have a look at cycling. It's low impact on the joints, you have complete flexibility over the level of effort you put in and, for me, it's doing wonders for the metabolism.
Yes you are right, it seems the smallest change has an impact on BG which almost overrides the cause and becomes the focus, we are desperate to get back to the numbers we are comfortable with. Blissful ignorance before diagnoses is greatly missed when we are under the weather.@jayney27 Thanks for the good wishes. Very interesting how quickly things go wrong and also how much altering how I walk impacts on my back issues as it is back causing walking issues according to medical wisdom. I just didn't see this coming so I was unprepared,
@GeoffersTaylor and @Mbaker I will 3rd that - I would put the major part of what I have done over the last 3 years down to static cycling. A new cycleway has been opened up linking several villages locally with the nearest market town so I may try the outdoor version this autumn.Agree, including static cycling
Hi Janet how is your husband, is he making a good recovery? X
6.1 to go with the hobbling about using a walking stick, higher resting pulse and general systemic malfunction. Also, Naproxen makes me ravenous and very sleepy. Going to be a long couple of days. @jayney27 good start to the day; @JanetMcDowell nice number and I too hope Mr McD is recovering well - I am sure he must do with your tender ministrations. Have a good day folks.
Thank you for taking the time to reply, I hope he continues to make a full recovery and that you can both enjoy the rest of the summer. Take care of yourself too, best wishes xSeen the local GP who is referring him for an angiogram, exercise tolerance test to find out if he really has had an MI. Improving slowly but still very tired. Took him off one of his tablets because it was making him wheezy as he has had asthma since he was a small boy. Hopefully that will make a difference. Thank you very much for asking after him.
