Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

5.4 this morning after a day of fairly high numbers yesterday, due to too much broccoli! Wouldn’t have minded so much if I’d had buttermilk scones or mince pies.
Anyway, very happy this morning. No broccoli for ne today.
I so get you...On so many levels.
Just a moment ago, I sat pondering about how a T2DM dx has given me a paradigm shift.
I have come to accept that to live a healthy complication free life with this condition is negotiated peace.
Many a time I have had to ask the question they ask in Military strategy, "Is this the hill you want to die on"
I just finished my breakfast coffee, and felt so grateful that I could derive such pleasure and satisfaction from a cup of flavoured joe.
5-6yrs ago pre dx, I know it would have taken much....much more than that to even register that I had ingested something, let alone give me such immense pleasure. :)

Great post - Negotiated peace is a very apt description.

I too really love my breakfast coffee ( with a splash of cream) I relish every mouthful.

Me too always seems so decadent to have cream, that was always a special treat at the end of a lovely meal in my past, now it’s an everyday natural occurrence.

6.9 this morning- am totally stressed as 91-year old mother arrived yesterday from Portugal (has lived there since retiring) for a 10-day stay. Ho hum

Treasure your time with your mother. Time is precious and don't be stressed out as it is not good for blood pressure nor blood glucose. Enjoy.

@Ally Pally I hope the time spent with your mum is enjoyable and not too stressful. Aging relatives can be infuriating and hard work but I really miss mine now they’ve gone.
@jayney27 great photo your holiday sounds absolutely brilliant and I think you’re doing marvellously with bgs considering all the temptations there.

6.3
Bit gutted about that as I had resisted everything from an afternoon tea at lytham hall at a school reunion yesterday. Took my own salad. Didn't have one morcel of what was on offer! Kebab no pitta for supper. Ahhh that's why....I ate much later than usual. 8pm. Think that must be it. Anyway I'm very proud of myself for resisting temptation.

Today's mission. Trying to get pink concert tickets. Wish me luck!

Happy weekend folks.
