Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Good Morning! I woke before 5am, but had a lie in until 7.30 and my fbg then was 7.1, I think I get higher (LD?) readings if I have a lie in. Perhaps I should test in bed when I wake.
Anyway after a mug of coffee with cream my reading was better at 6.4 at 0945.

5.2 after a 10 day holiday at the intercon in Nha Trang, Vietnam with all the carbfest that entailed. Feeling rather smug, actually.

Hi, I am diagnosed as type 2 about 7 month ago. Now on Metformin 500mg twice a day. My fasting reading was 6.7 this morning with an instant device. Please somebody tell me is this high or it's ok. Thanks

Hi @animeshsharma - welcome to the forum!
As I understand it (I was diagnosed in March this year), anything up to 6.2 fasting is considered to be in the normal, non-diabetic range and a target of under 7 is recommended for T2.
I hope this helps.
Keep posting!
:)

6.1 @ 6am.
Still higher than I like - I prefer the mid-5s - but better than yesterday.
(And it transpires that my problems yesterday were not down to the weather or the food - apparently I have a virus. :()

5.8. Shocked as I had a croissant at breakfast yesterday....

Borderline T2, serial yo-yo dieter but firmly sticking to LCHF with IF

5.9 Been on holiday for a week so not eating as well as I should. I prefer the low 5's really. Didn't take my meter away with me either. Anyway will be good now and stick to my LCHF diet.
