Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

LOL asparagusp, our fbs are like a yo-yo, one day up and next day down and we don't know why that is so even though we try our best to keep it constant. We cannot win this diabetic war, just keep a positive mind and hope for the best. Btw, how much turmeric has one got to take to help with arthritis. It is a wonder spice and taste good too. I have lots in my pantry for my curries.
 
Keesha I have only just started adding it to my salads! My interest was prompted by the "Trust Me I'm A Doctor" on BBC 1 recently and started me to do further research online. The programme carried out a trial and it seemed the benefits were best when cooked! The programme is still available on iplayer as I write - http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b07x0mlv/trust-me-im-a-doctor-series-5-episode-3 I know they focussed on cancer prevention but it has loads of other "credentials"
 
I hope you don't think im nuts but just read cheese and animal protein can make arthritis worse. Try a different protein? Nuts or fish/seafood. I'm doing to abandon my cheese to see if my problem goes. I might have to buy yogart - fruit free as i need the calcium. I'll keep you updated. :)
Apparently meat, fish, seafood and cheese can increase acidity in the blood and thus increase arthritis pain levels. It's been suggested that, if affected, one should limit protein from any of these sources to no more than 70g per day (about the equivalent of one chicken breast).
Alternative sources of protein are nuts, seeds, eggs, single cream (double cream contains less protein), icecream, beans, soy, yoghurt and spinach.
