Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

Urgh 7.2 today .... too much 85% chocolate last night after finishing client meetings at 8:30pm :( but no more excuses - slapping myself back into good control today!

7.9 - do not know if this is due to the mini sausage roll I ate before bed last night with the coffee and double cream! Suggested to me to eat some carbs before bed and drink coffee with cream to give a lower over night reading before eating............. From this I would say it did not work............ Back to the drawing board on that one.
Suggestion on Diabetes Self Management site - take Metformin just before bed rather than after evening meal - so this is my next trial for myself. I manage during the day to stay in range but the morning readings are consistently higher than the goal my doctor has set me (what range 5.5 or 37 mmol/mol) - yet to get to this which is proving frustrating.

7.7 - 15.7.2016 - happy to get back into the 7s after a couple of weeks in the 8s and 9s. Off for a weekend of merriment and morris dancing by the seaside.

5.6 at 0330
6.3 at 0530
7.2 at 0830
I woke at 0330 and thought I'd test as I keep meter next to bed now, and thought it would give me a more accurate pre-DP reading. It was 5.6. I went back to sleep, woke again at 0530, tested again and it was 6.3, which is about where it usually is when I test on waking. Got up at 0600 and had a mug of coffee with double cream at 0620. I tested again after 2 hours at 0830 and it was 7.2!
I assume the 6.3 reading is with DP. I thought the coffee with cream was supposed to stop the liver dump, but it doesn't seem to have, though perhaps it might have been even higher without the coffee?
Anyway I'm taking the lowest reading as my fbg for today.
