Type 2s: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning? (very low chat level)

You are a winner!
Is your liver block working?
I've had to base all my meals on veg to get my fbg under 6mmol/l. I've filled myself with them so no room for naughties. I'm veggie queen right now. But definitely worth it. I was eating too much protein too. Veg is the key, for me. You?

11.8 this morning. Highest it has been for quite a while and not sure why.
It could be a combination of factors. Liver dump and delayed carbs or protein with a lergy about to hit. All normal for us diabetics. I use tricks to bring mine down. Some things like lergies cannot be blocked but liver output and diet tips can help.
To block liver nibble on cheese or nuts before bed. Test immediately on waking, no ablusions or breakfast until tested. Then eat low carb breakfast immediately or creamy coffee or I've had pork scratchings on the go.
Diet needs to be veg based. None root veg with fat but not heavy protein. No potatoes, rice, pasta or cereals til bgs are excellent. Then experiment to see what raises YOU.
I hope this helps. :-)

Morning All

4.9 for me today.

Winniethepoo - the fluctuations you are seeing could simply be due to the inaccuracy of the meters available to us.

The specs only require them to be +/-10% at 5.0, so if your actual level is 5.0 the test could give you between 4.5 and 5.5.

I don't worry too much about small fluctuations, but I do watch the overall trend ;)

TRESCO -That explanation makes me feel better having had an 8.1 followed immediately by a 7.6 ( I took the lower number!)
