Good evening @Paul M. Welcome to the forum and this FBG thread for type 2s. We're pleased you could join us.

Protein foods are increasingly important as we age. So too are fats and oils. Assuming you have no other medical disorders aside from type 2 diabetes, there's no reason to restrict healthy fats like butter and extra virgin olive oil.

Unfortunately, margarine is heavily processed from vegetable seed oils and contains varying levels of trans fats, so best avoided. If you keep to butter and cold pressed olive oil, you won't go far wrong.

Once again, welcome.

Sugar, in all it's iterations.
Good day from Montreal: I woke to a BG of 4.8 mmol/L this a.m. 06:00hrs.

I guess my HbA1c tells my MD that this trend is happening. As they didn't check my BG. She told me I could go for my blood test in the afternoon.

Normally I have to go to the clinic for my blood test early a.m. before breakfast, for my BG

(post 5km run routine this evening. BG was 5.5 mmol/L Personal Best Mile.)
