Morning all,
Not posted for a while (too much going on) been generally hanging around 9&10 fasting except yesterday which was rather odd.
Forgot to take my metformin the night before and had usual food, tested in morning after showering and was gobsmacked at 7.6, retested three times and too the average of 7.6 *** happened there! So confused, anyways have a good day / week all, not sure when back on :)

Good morning. I've not contributed to this before as I've been too embarassed, but I got a 6.8 this morning, my lowest for about 3 years. The day I started on insulin in March it was 14.5. I had decent numbers all day yesterday and had a good carb day and did my best session of exercise for a while at around 7pm, so I'm hoping I've got to a regime that might work for me. Get my annual bloods done tomorrow, so will be interesting to see what has changed.

Just wish I felt better, I feel far worse than I did when my numbers were atrocious - it's taking longer to adjust than I was expecting.
Stick with it @BooJewels....sounds like your doing great now. Not easy, esp at first..... Post your figures no matter what. Don't be embarrassed....the support you get on here when posting, esp high nos can be boost to keep you going.... And dont forget, many of the posters originally came in at mid teens to mid 20s...also, despite t saying type 2s some of us are diet controlled pre-diabetic too.

Have a great day, fingers crossed for good HbA1c.....if you've had a good 3 months the test should reflect it

We'll done on exercise routine

OK, this morning my FBG was 7.4, but it was to be expected as last night I went to a party. There was plenty of LC goodies to enjoy, but I succumbed to hand-made bread, savoury fillo pastry, and even tasted a couple of the desserts on offer (they were too sweet to have full portions). Before bed BG was 8.7, which is the highest I've tested! Even though the level should have been depressed by the glass of wine I had...

It was a special occasion, and now I know what a relatively small quantity of carbs (compared to what I was eating before) does to my body. Back to LC today!

Many thanks @Sable_Jan - I'm not new to diabetes, I've been T2 for about 23 years. I just dramatically lost control a few years ago after a medical emergency interrupted my ability to exercise etc. and I've struggled to get back to where I was. I had to relent in March and start on insulin when what I'd done before and the meds no longer worked.

Great tastings now the insulin has kicked in.
Being nosy now, what does that test tell you? Hope for good results for you x
Your not nosy just curious. It checks my full blood count liver, kidney functions and clotting levels because methatrexate can have some wonderful side effects. I have now got a lovely vimpire bruise:rolleyes:

What's the trick with bedtime food :)

What seems to work for me is a mixture of Protein and Fat with no or minimal Carbohydrate. I have a hot chocolate drink that's high in Protein with 30g Butter from grass fed cows in it - Delicious!

Protein = 23.8g
Fat = 25.2
Carbohydrate = 2.7g

Cheese also seems to work but, nowhere near as well as the above has thus far proved.

Wed.20th. 4.5 at 6.15am. A blue sky morning, with huge flocks of sulphur crested cockatoos giving me GBH of the ear'ole!
About 5.5km this morning.
After lunch spent some time looking at links on high blood pressure and Atrial fibrillation. Bit of a problem. Could be sleep related. Don't get enough.
Stay well, everyone.

5.0 this sunny morning. I am really happy just stayed in single figures yesterday the highest reading been 9.8 after dinner :D:)
