Hi have you switched ways of eating recently? A bit of intermittent fasting can often work especially if not done it for a while I’ve also found that fasting seems to work really well on middle loss. Another option would be to consider something like Pilates where you tighten up your middle with resistance core exercises they’ve helped me along with fasting to get a slim middle. Hope this helps you keep going sounds like it’s the middle that’s the problem rather than your bmi so you may need to build abdomen muscle to pull it all in!Hi guys popped into the thread hoping to get motivation to see if I really am stuck at my best weight. For background I was 96.4kgs 15St 1Lbs in June 2015 and went to 76 kgs 12 St 1 by December 2015.
This morning I was 11 St 13.5 which seems to be fairly steady now. BMI is fine, have dropped 3 or in some cases 4 trouser sizes but can't move waist to height ratio - the WHO would have me as obese 6 feet tall waist 36 trouser size 34 or 32
Thanks shelley262. I do now do intermittent fasting and have reduced to average 30 gms carb per day. At those levels I struggle to go beyond 14000 steps per day - which is basically a good dog walk and garden chores - and do workouts for more than 2 days per week. Need some motivation and a kick up the ar** from people on here I think!Hi have you switched ways of eating recently? Still think working specifically on your middle could help Pilates type exercises can be done daily as they are not energetic I can easily do them while fasting but they do make a difference building up more of a girdle so that all your middle organs etc are held in. Not that I’m a convert it’s just that I’ve lost 12cms round my middle so something is working! You could also consider upping your fat consumption for a day or so and then fasting. Thanks shelley262. How's the diet? I was given the book at the weekend. Some amazing food in it. It's working for me so far.Diagnosed Dec 17 & weighed in at 114 kg - bit of a kick required to take action! Dr suggested I try the 8 week blood sugar diet & loaned me the book - started on Sunday so will see how it goes - will weigh in again on Friday. Thanks all for positive comments , it's a real encouragement.
Misses. Look at your achievements on weight loss. Fantastic results. Let them carry you through. That's why I put mine in every weekly post, to remind me how I did it and started in Jan'17. So it was winter too so I'm not going to allow winter to make an excuse for me, never again. Yes, I'm less active but different painkillers are not as good as tramadol. If I ask for antidepressant some add weight so we all don't want that....but I may have no choice. My mood can make a huge difference on how I see things. I'm up to my neck in kids for 10days now so I'll have to wait til their back to school to chase after my gp practice to fit around them. I'll just manage, as always.
You must focus on how well your body is reacting and being IR and achieved your loss is phenomenal!!!! You are a winner! You are aiding your body to work well. Focus on that, always. You must be off next week? Anything planned?
Our house is packed with fun. They often don't want to go to school they enjoy home so much. Nasty weather today here! Rain and strong winds. I cannot walk in strong wind on my crutch and weakness. (All off my back, hopefully). We are cosy and warm....and happy.Sorry to hear that. Good old fashioned games and puzzles in the house maybe? I’m sure you’ll find a way to enjoy some quality time. Good luck
Hubby on same one, max dose just to keep him level. He still has days thou which he cannot get something bad out of his head. He repeats himself constantly. Poor thing. All accumulative depression and anxiety over decades for him.@ickihun I LOVE you! You are so positive and I am in awe of how you manage competing health and family issues
Yes I'm on half term this week - and lots on. Teaching son (16 and autistic) how to get the bus home from college. He can get the bus from home to the college- but can't get home independently yet. He's asked to learn - so a day will be spent riding up and down on the 61 busEnd of the week is a trip to London for theatre and meet up with daughter. Plus catching up on paperwork
I know that I am very blessed - and I know that I am so much healthier than for years. I'm still on citralopram for anxiety - but hoping I might be able to get off it over the summer holiday. Still longing for lighter mornings and evenings though
You and many others have what is called a 'diabetic tummy'.I have a similar problem. Hit my target weight (and a normal BMI) just before Christmas, but still larger around the waist and abdomen than I’d like, so set a new target and have hit the gym to do resistance work and abs work. It is slowly working but shifting weight is so much harder now that there’s less to lose. Just have to hang in there, I think.
Surprised to hear that. My energy levels are really high on 20g or under. Maybe you just need more time to adjust, or perhaps you’re not getting enough fat?
Edited to correct typo.
Hi BigIain, sorry for the slow response, it's been a very hectic week. I thoroughly recommend the diet - the book I found easy to read & very encouraging & I've even purchased it's supporting recipe book. The recipes in both are delicious and my whole family have embraced the food - on the whole anyway! I've decided to try things even if I don't like the sound of them & I've changed my mind about all kinds of things! I found the first 3 days tough - really quite hungry at times, but I sipped my way through what seemed like gallons of hot/ cold water with lemon slices or mint leaves which seemed to take the edge off. I can honestly say, after that I've felt fine - I no longer get "hangry" at those key times (I always used to be desperate to eat at around 11 am & 3.30 pm) - Yes I might be peckish, but it now seems to be just a little tummy rumble rather than an emotional thing. I occasionally go a bit over 800 call, but I try and balance it over the week. I've dieted many times over the years, never in quite such an "extreme" way. I have always craved he food I "couldn't" have on other diets & been tempted to pick. I can honestly say I've not felt I'm missing out on anything - my kids can sit and eat a bar of chocolate next to me & I'm not interested. I feel that my sweet cravings have completely faded away & I'm even lookig forward to a "green drink" for breakfast! !! (I didn't like it the first twice, but I've grown to enjoy it rather surprisingly). Please let me know whether you've decided to give it a go - I'm now usually so slow to respond and I'd be happy to pass on any useful tips if you do. Several of my work colleagues have embarked on the diet just because they're so impressed with the rapid results & how interesting my lunch box looks! Good luck! I've lost 13.2 kg (2 stones & 1 lb) in 5 weeks & 5 days. I feel like a new person - in mind as well as body. It's great to be in control. How's the diet? I was given the book at the weekend.
