I weighed in at 10st 2lbs today, same as the last two Fridays, though I've been up to 10st 4lbs during the week and down to 10st yesterday. My new scales have arrived but haven't got round to setting them up, will try to do that tomorrow or Sunday.
@Galja Yes it's the Omron BF11. I was a bit sceptical too. But it was recommended by @AndBreathe who uses them. I read the reviews on Amazon and people say the results do match those they are getting on clinical tests.
Anyway they seem to be more accurate than the cheaper Salter scales I have. Yesterday the Salter scales were showing my weight as 144lbs, while the Omron scales showed 140lbs - I prefer the lower figure!
hi @AndBreathe I'm not sure what you mean by 'metric'. If you mean the ranges, I was going by the scales shown in the Omron BF511 user manual. at the bottom of Page 11 it has a little table:Prem, where did you find any metric for visceral fat? I haven't been able to find anything for that. Plenty for fat, muscle, bone, water etc,.... but not visceral fat.
My visceral fat is 3..
Hi @Galja There is a review of scales that measure body fat here:Did you get one of those special scales that measure your body fat through electrical impulse by standing with bare feet on the unit? I've always wondered whether that really works
Well done, that's a fantastic result! No need to apologise for patting yourself on the back, you have every right to be pleased. Go and enjoy your well deserved meal, I shall be doing the same. It's my son's birthday on Monday so the whole family is going out for Sunday lunch. No Yorkshire for me though!Weekly weigh in -- well I weighed myself last weekend - I lost 1kg and achieved a total loss so far of 26kg - for me who still prefers pre metric - 4 stone - this is a real achievement for me and I am delighted to have got this far - I still have a long way to go but decided a treat for myself is a meal out with family - nothing to OTT so a carvery but I will allow myself one small yorkshire pudding, something I really miss.
Now on to losing the next 7lbs..........
I know I have struggled with LCHF but it is paying off slowly.
Wishing you all success in the weekly weigh in and forgive the 'patting myself on my back' just so pleased with the result - it has taken my 2.5 years to get this far - all that time ago I decided I would do this weight loss thing really slowly and for me it is working so sticking to it.
@Galja You should be able to get that on Amazon. I did consider it. but I have skinny arms and legs. My fat is almost entirely around my middle. If I could redistribute it to my arms and legs I would!
Agreed. I did read more recent reviews on Amazon before buying the Omron model, which seemed to suit my needs more than the Tanita one.I don't want to rain on anyone's BBQ, but that articles states it was last updated in June 2007, so it's likely those models will have become obsolete and even the methods/inaccuracies for subsequent models may differ.
Again for me, it's less important that I recognise a frank number than that I learned about my own trends.
