Weekly weigh in - Fridays

I weighed in at 10st 2lbs today, same as the last two Fridays, though I've been up to 10st 4lbs during the week and down to 10st yesterday. My new scales have arrived but haven't got round to setting them up, will try to do that tomorrow or Sunday.

@Galja I am only weighed at my doctor's surgery once a year, in the summer. The surgery is only about 3-4 minutes walk from where I live, so I wear my lightest shorts, sleeveless vest and sandals. Anything else I need to take like keys I put in a small backpack which I'm not wearing when I'm weighed..

Well I set up my new scales. My older scales were showing my weight as 10st 4lbs today. My new scales show my weight as 10st 1.8lbs. So I hope these are more accurate as they cost three times as much as the older ones.
They give my BMI as 22.2, which is what I also got from the NHS calculator.
My skeletal fat is shown as 18.7%. muscle as 35.1% and visceral fat as 7. All in the 'normal' range for my age and height.:)

Edit: And after a wee my weight has gone down to 10st.

@Galja Yes it's the Omron BF11. I was a bit sceptical too. But it was recommended by @AndBreathe who uses them. I read the reviews on Amazon and people say the results do match those they are getting on clinical tests.
Anyway they seem to be more accurate than the cheaper Salter scales I have. Yesterday the Salter scales were showing my weight as 144lbs, while the Omron scales showed 140lbs - I prefer the lower figure!

Prem, where did you find any metric for visceral fat? I haven't been able to find anything for that. Plenty for fat, muscle, bone, water etc,.... but not visceral fat.

My visceral fat is 3.

On a day to day basis, depending on my hydration levels, I think, the percentages vary a little.

I do find those scales to be consistent though.

hi @AndBreathe I'm not sure what you mean by 'metric'. If you mean the ranges, I was going by the scales shown in the Omron BF511 user manual. at the bottom of Page 11 it has a little table:

Interpreting the Visceral Fat Level Result

Visceral Fat Level Level Classification
1-9 0 (Normal)
10-14 + (High)
15-30 ++ (Very High)

(According to Omron Healthcare figures)

So according to this your figure of 3 is quite good. I hope to reduce my figure of 7.

Edit: The Tanita website shows Healthy Visceral Fat as 1-12, and Excessive as 12-59.

Normally do mine every two weeks, it changes little at the moment, Should be Sunday, forgot, so it was Monday.
72 kg
which I am happy with.
:)

@Galja You should be able to get that on Amazon. I did consider it. but I have skinny arms and legs. My fat is almost entirely around my middle. If I could redistribute it to my arms and legs I would!:)

Weekly weigh in -- well I weighed myself last weekend - I lost 1kg and achieved a total loss so far of 26kg - for me who still prefers pre metric - 4 stone - this is a real achievement for me and I am delighted to have got this far - I still have a long way to go but decided a treat for myself is a meal out with family - nothing to OTT so a carvery but I will allow myself one small yorkshire pudding, something I really miss.
Now on to losing the next 7lbs..........
I know I have struggled with LCHF but it is paying off slowly.
Wishing you all success in the weekly weigh in and forgive the 'patting myself on my back' just so pleased with the result - it has taken my 2.5 years to get this far - all that time ago I decided I would do this weight loss thing really slowly and for me it is working so sticking to it.

Well done, that's a fantastic result! No need to apologise for patting yourself on the back, you have every right to be pleased. Go and enjoy your well deserved meal, I shall be doing the same. It's my son's birthday on Monday so the whole family is going out for Sunday lunch. No Yorkshire for me though!

I don't want to rain on anyone's BBQ, but that articles states it was last updated in June 2007, so it's likely those models will have become obsolete and even the methods/inaccuracies for subsequent models may differ.

Again for me, it's less important that I recognise a frank number than that I learned about my own trends.

13st 4.6lbs this morning, so much the same as last week. Weight goes up at the weekend and creeps back down through the week. Perhaps I need to reassess my weekends!

Agreed. I did read more recent reviews on Amazon before buying the Omron model, which seemed to suit my needs more than the Tanita one.

Weighing 139lbs on new Omron scales and 143lbs on older Salter scales today.
Down 3lbs or up 1lb compared to last Friday's Salter scale reading of 142lbs.
The difference readings between the two scales has varied from 2lbs to 6lbs over the week. I think the Omron readings are probably more accurate. They have only fluctuated by about 1lb over the week, so I will be using them for the Friday weekly weigh-in from now.

Weighed today 9st 13lbs down from 10st 0.5lbs finally into 9 stone bracket, now just 6lbs until I reach my goal :couchpotato:

This weeks weigh in for me saw no change - not overly worried as I decided staying the same was just as good as losing a little, to me it shows I am learning to maintain as well as lose and that if I ever get to a point where I need to stabilize my weight I might not find it too hard to do - mind you I do have a long way to go before I get to that point...........

Hi :). I weigh myself once a month.

18/7/16 = 13 stone exact.
19/8/16 = 12stone - 11lbs (Hospital weighed me).
