Good morning everyone, I am happy to report a 2.5lb loss this week, just half a pound shy of having lost 7stone and 2.5lbs away from the full 100lbs. It has taken 40 weeks so far.

@ravensmitten you did make me laugh with your shower-related weight gain. I have resolved to stop showering, just to be on the safe side.

Brilliant work, good going! Hope you fought that virus off in the end? child with a nasty cough all this week but I managed to swerve it/fight it off.

And, that's it, :joyful: dangerous thing washing! I should have dropped a good few kg this week the amount of showers I've avoided!

Fake Edit: I forgot about putting my progress (I wont bore everyone by recapping on why I feel the bigger picture since the start of a a different way of eating is more helpful to me than the week to week figures, with all the shower related shenanigans, but still I monitor them anyway, just give them less cachet on a day to day, week to week basis, okay, maybe that was a slight recap. :bag:)

Since last Friday: 3lb (1.36kg)
but more importantly
Since the 8th of Jan: 25lbs (11.33kg)

How bothersome, @May Mic but hopefully just a small blip in the scheme of things and taking steps is a good plan.

Keep going @cdpm you are doing great!

Thanks @ravensmitten yes the virus has mostly cleared up now, I hope your poorly child is on the mend and well done for avoiding it yourself. You have done well since 8th January, that is a great loss in 5 weeks.

I do love stats and things, so I enjoy monitoring weekly, I have the most amazing Excel spreadsheet, LOL! A friend of mine is a bit scale phobic, so she weighs monthly and that suits her. I need weekly encouragement or I will forget about it all and go completely off the rails, I have tried it before and that is what happens. Everyone is different. I am still not going to shower though. (I feel sad there isn't a laughing emoji as I would insert one here)

Thanks, yes, it seemed like a bit much to lose at first and I'm sure it wont continue as such. I'm 6ft 4" and built like a rugby prop at the moment (without the training!), when I used to be quite trim and lanky when in condition a few years ago. Weight loss will probably will slow down a lot as I progress, might not end up back at the trim of 10-20 years ago, but gotta "shoot for the moon" I suppose.

I know it can go a few ways but this thread itself is quite the encouragement, some people need different types of it I think, sometimes it is helpful when that is external too, for instance seeing others, and your own posts here are quite encouraging. Even though I wouldn't want to rely on anyone for that or ever put them in that position to be the supply of my encouragement, because ultimately I'm on my own if it's absent and it's never expected. It still is an added bonus, and encouraging to think that it's not all about oneself. Although paradoxically selfish, as I wish the same struggles on no one.

Not cause "oh, look at me, I'm such a great person me!" more because it makes life easier in those respects.

For me the data is a good encouragement too, also the way I feel physically.

Before I go too far off into a philosophical wobble of codswallop again, I think everyone here is doing well by having the initial awareness to be looking aiming for something, they are by virtue aiming for something, even when it's incredibly difficult, through all the ups and downs, and when it feels impossible, so I totally understand the disheartenment when it seems not to be working despite that work being put in.

That's great news! So, so close to that 100lbs. Good luck for next week!
Well done @IanBish bang on 16stone, which means you will be in the 15s next week.
Thank you. And yes, given a fair wind, I hopefully will be.

Oh bother, @filly some weeks are harder than others, I know, hopefully this week will be better for you.

That is interesting, @IanBish just goes to show how important managing our blood sugars are for the weight loss.

Well done on your loss last week, @aylalake - I hope this week is good too!

I managed to lose 1lb this week, I have been on point with my food/exercise and I have begun to run a little and eventually I will get to that 100lb loss. February has been my worst month since I began my diet, I am a bit concerned as I still have a way to go. I will start a little weight training, getting some muscle may help (I refuse to cut calories any further).

I completely forgot until about half an hour ago and I’d eaten fried eggs on low carb toast by then and 2 large cups of coffee, so no good weighing now. I’ll do it tomorrow morning, I’m sure one day won’t make a huge diffrence.

Same, was “distracted” but haven’t eaten, I just know I weigh 4 stone heavier in the afternoon and after a shower. :D

Edit: don’t think I’ve lost this week if yesterday’s weight (I weigh every day for trends) is anything to go by but I’ll measure again tomorrow morning, same time, same place.

Being told “Oh go on, one won’t hurt you!”.
Conversely, the food police.
Weighed at doctor’s surgery just now, fully clothed including shoes, with a litre or more of fluid and lunch on board - exactly the same as last week so I presume I have lost a little bit. I, like @MissMuffett, will properly weigh tomorrow.

The things I do for the forum! I've discovered that I like pasta a lot less than I used to.

Well done. This time of the year is never the best time to lose weight. But you're so close to your next goal. I'm cheering you on.

10.10 for me, which feels a lot. Trousers and belts are tight.
But the magic of search shows me I've been here before and it's no worse.
I'd really like to shift a few more pounds.
Have had some carb creep lately, using emotional time as the excuse to go with the alcohol and the greed and the lack of will power.
Will try to join you weekly as motivation
