This week's average is 83.3kg (last week's 84.3kg, a difference of -1kg).

Today's weigh-in was 85.2kg (last Friday's 84.6 kg., +0.6kg). Current target 80kg. 5.2kg to go from today.

Overall, I was heading in the right direction with really good progress at the beginning of the week. Less than normal exercise last few days due to work travel (sitting on the train instead of walking my dog). Last night, I fell off the wagon (again!) and had excess carbs, so this morning, carrying that extra water weight associated with storing glycogen. But today is a great day to reset, refocus, and continue the journey.

Well done on the loss this week @filly and @Art Of Flowers that is fabulous for both of you and I hope you continue to do so well over the next week too.

Commiserations @jpscloud @TheSecretCarbAddict and @MissMuffett - just coming here to be accountable is a positive move and getting back on track asap is the way forward. I hope for a better result for you next week!

I am sorry you have been ill recently, @PatsyB I hope you can get your weight back to where you want it to be soon. I hope you are fully recovered from your illness, too.

I lost nothing this week, but on reflection I think I may have been eating a bit too much every day as all the exercise I am doing is making me very hungry and I am doing that whole "well, I will burn it off tomorrow" thing. Time to reign that in and stick to my daily calorie allowance - no more excuses!

@LeafyArts , I know what you mean about the exercise. I continue to work out, but I still didn’t lose any this week. I’m trying to be honest with myself, but keep sight of the big picture.

Earlier this week, I showed I was up 2 pounds one day, then back down. Fluid, I suppose.

So, for now I’m going to be glad my BG is doing awesome! Medtronic 780g is really working hard for me. I work hard for it too. And, my chronic constipation has gone, since going on doctor ordered B12 treatment.

I really want to get 2 pounds off by Thursday of next week. I have a doctor’s appointment that day and I would love to be at a certain point by then.

So, last week I started eating a garden salad at lunch. Which is new. I normally just work out at lunch. It helps me not be as hungry at dinner. Being hungry just started, since my B12 treatment. My taste and smell have improved too. Food is so delicious. I suppose losing 80 pounds previously was aided by my smell/taste disorder. I’m going to dissect every item I’m eating and calculate the calories again. I suspect I’ve been too lax with salad dressing, though I use very little.

On the upside, I get repeated compliments and every time I go shopping, nice smiles and hellos from very cute guys. Lol Makes me feel good! And, I ordered a size Medium pajamas and they fit perfectly. Yaay! I’m trying to celebrate non-scale victories.
So congrats to those who met their goals and good luck to those who are still working hard! My gym is closed today, so I have to figure out an alternative workout in this heat. Will be 93 F today.

I think when my blood glucose is stable, it helps prevent those sudden energy crashes, so keeping yours right is a great way to go.

Great news about the B12 helping too and for all those lovely non-scale victories, it really makes it all worthwhile - ha, as well as being able to cope with the heat.

Keep up the good work and have a great week!

@LeafyArts commiserations to you too, but as you say we are here and not in full denial!

Congrats to you @Prancy on that non-scale victory! I think exercise is a double-edged sword, it definitely does increase appetite and there is also a very strong possibility of our bodies reacting to weight loss after a period of time, with a powerful urge to regain the weight since that is our survival tactic. It is very very hard to keep weight off long term!

Good luck for the coming week everyone!

Good morning everyone - how has this week been for you? The heat has been a bit much and I am glad the cooler weather has returned and we can sleep again.

I lost one pound this week and I now have less than one stone to lose to get to my goal. Mind you, it is getting much harder now to lose, but that is OK, I am in no rush. The important thing is I am still logging what I eat and checking my weight every week.

This week's average is 82.6kg (last week's 83.3kg, a difference of -0.7kg).

Today's weigh-in was 82.9kg (last Friday's 85.2 kg., -2.3kg, mostly waterweight). Current target 80kg. 2.9kg to go from today.

I'm very pleased with my progress this week. Managed to stay on track despite travelling for work and a few long days (which normally seem to trigger snacking bonanza).

Well, i have some good news. Today, I’m down 1 more pound! Thank goodness! Thought it wouldn’t happen. I had hoped it would happen by yesterday, for my doctor’s appointment, but no. Took my shoes off too! Ha! Didn’t happen, but I was still down 10 pounds from my last visit several months ago. My doctor was pleased and amazed. They tell me they rarely see such results in non-surgery patients. It helps with my motivation. It feels good to have that validation. I tell all my health care providers (I have several chronic conditions.) about the support I get from the online GLOBAL diabetes community. How can you make it without it? Idk.

To top it off, my Medtronic 780 informs me that for the last 24 hours, I am 100% TIR with average BG of 112. It‘s emotional for me as I have struggled for so long with T1. I give the pump credit. I realize most on this thread are T2, but if you know of any T1 struggling, please pass this recommendation to them. It’s a game changer for sure.

I sympathize with those who had a disappointing week. Been there a lot. One thing I often do is pick an inspiring song and listen to it as I work out or walk. Here’s one I used last week. I view weight and diabetes as the antagonists in the song. I am the protagonist. I can meet them with the fierceness of a lion!

Take care everybody! Best of luck for the week ahead.

Hello all, bit late again here. I'm down 2lbs this week, very happy with that considering I'm still having more carbs than ideal.

For full disclosure, after some deep contemplation I have restarted medications including ozempic, as I was unable to be consistent with very low carb. I'm not giving up on low carb, but will focus on weight loss with the aid of medications.

Whatever works for you and doesn't impact your general wellbeing is fine, jpscloud.

I've been away for four days (did anyone miss me?) and relieved to find I haven't put on weight. I didn't stray from my normal intake, but we all know those pesky pounds can sneak up for no discernable reason.

I’m just curious about something. With type 2 situations, I often see comments about adherence to low carb. It seems tied to weight loss as well, from what I’m seeing. So, what exactly does that mean? How many per day or what range is considered ok.

As I like an easy life, "low carb" to me is as low as I can possibly get it. So I do not eat any obvious carbs, and for those sneaky ones that lurk in single figures in bizarre items such as lettuce, well, those can't be helped. Others will work differently.
