I don't restrict calories, but target 15g net carbs per day (leafy greens, non-starchy vegetables, berries now and then), around 0.8 - 1g protein per kg of my body weight and the rest of nutrition from healthy fats. My carb and protein levels are optimised to get stable BG levels in the standard range, but targeting tight range (3.9-7.8 mmol/l). Everyone will be different in terms of exact amounts, and you need to find yours. For me, the key dynaimcs of low carbs and focus on protein/fat are the satiety that it brings making it easy not to overeat and also increased insulin sensitivity both of which are the key for weightloss.

Every ounce down counts, so well done!

I am within 6lbs of target and any loss is now glacially slow, with the odd upwards blip just to keep me on my toes. But psychologically, going down into the preceding stone by even one pound, as I have done this week, is SO encouraging.

I reversed my Type 2

Diet only

Statins

I went to see a diabetes nurse on Apr 29. My weight then was about 78Kg. After that I stopped eating ice cream and my weight dropped to 75.8Kg on May 24. Its been plateauing around that weight until Jun28. I have suddenly dropped to 74.5Kg. This may be because I have been taking 2x300mg Benfotiamine (vitamin B1) supplements daily to help alleviate diabetes symptoms.

Okay. I’m in shock, but I appear to have lost 2 pounds since last Friday! I’m going to weigh again in a little while. That seems odd. All I did different last week was add blueberries and cucumbers to my diet! Lol. Seriously, I ate quite a bit yesterday. Hmmm…..will confirm this shortly. Only one scale in the house. I don’t want to celebrate too early.
…………….……
Well, it still says I’m down 2 more pounds! I’ll take it. My workouts were even down last week, since my gym was closed on July 4 and one day I had to take my dad to the doctor. He’s been sick and I’m very stressed about that. That’s all I can figure.

I may reach my ultimate goal sooner than I thought. My nephew is getting married in September and I want a new dress to showcase my figure. I’m so excited!

i know it can be discouraging when you get stalled on the way. Keep the faith and know your path is solid.

Whoo hoo! Take it and run no matter if it makes sense or not. Sometimes the body has it's own timetable.

I'm almost exactly the same weight as last week, but have had four days holiday so I'll take that as a win! I didn't go mad with carbs, ate a lot of local seafood and did quite a bit more walking around than I normally would, but I didn't resist ice creams!

A belated report in from me this week. I have been away and in a remote area where internet was frustratingly spotty. I managed to be reasonably sensible with my food, so I am down half a pound as of yesterday morning.

@Art Of Flowers 1.3kg down is amazing!

Sorry about your plateau still continuing @IanBish - that is so frustrating for you.

Well done @filly on your 9oz loss this week, that is fabulous.

I am with you, @Outlier being so near to target too, things have really slowed down for me as well. Yes, and being in a new stone range is very encouraging!

Wow, @Prancy I think I am going to buy a load of cucumbers and blueberries. You will certainly be in that new dress in September now!

Woohoo! @May Mic - 1.6 is a great drop.

I agree, @jpscloud not gaining while being on holiday is definitely a win!

See you all on Friday, which is fast approaching :)

Congrats LeafyArts on your loss last week! I don’t do well with spotty internet reception. Glad to see your update!

I have the cucumbers and am buying more blueberries today!

After several weeks of small losses, half a pound here, a pound there and one week of no loss at all, I weighed in this morning and for some reason I am 3lbs down! I have done nothing different and am sticking to 1600 cals and under 100g carbs daily, trying to get as much protein a I can. I probably am doing more exercise now that I am running and a little weight training on top of my daily walks. Very happy to be inching nearer and nearer my goal weight.

So, if the scales aren't cooperating, stick with it and they will shift eventually.

Alight!!! That is HUGE! You must feel awesome. Happy for you. Your plan is working. Feel free to share more tips.

Art Of Flowers well done on your loss too! Going down in pounds is a perfect way to start the weekend. Congratulations on that!

Filly, I’m with you this week. I’m the same and that’s okay. I know things are still working right and later on, I’ll see a reduction again. Staying the course is what’s vital. Congrats on that!

Thanks Prancy, yes, it isn't always linear, some weeks can be disappointing, but it all works out later down the line. Patience is key and yes, as you say, staying the course is definitely vital!

Do you know if there’s another thread around here for weight loss discussion, other than reporting the loss each week? I have a couple of questions about my thinner body.
