Sprouts, trifle and breakfast cereals. Turkey as a roast meat, I can handle it in a curry.

All still on the list.

Turkey is very dry and I don't particularly enjoy it, we got a turkey crown for Christmas Day and a joint of beef, far enjoyed the beef more but we had the leftover turkey with chips on Boxing day but I made sure to smother it with Helmans, chicken is far nicer IMHO..

I went over the top eating some boiled sweets, when I got home I did not feel so good but blamed the salad cream while having dinner, which was not a major problem (just me being a greedy boy).
However the next day at tea time, was my favorite meal, mince and mashed potatoes. My full plate was on the table looking so good, but unknown to me my lovely sisters filled the middle of the meal with "salad cream" which was also hidden. Being a greedy boy I scoffed most of it before I became violently sick.
Since then salad cream is banned, yet mince and tatties is still my favourite.(forgot to say if I smell salad cream I become ukey )

CABBAGE, even the smell made me puke......shiiiiivers, why did you remind me Popsy. :inpain: :banghead:

Oh ick izzzi no wonder your reacation to it is still revulsion! My friend had a brother who was addicted to butter. One day his mother put a bar of yellow soap in it's place, he had taken a big bite before he noticed! He must have been pretty young! Wonder if it put him off butter?

Jellied beetroot - a lovely (not) school delicacy. Also, like another poster the vile substance known as tapioca pudding! I had to hold my nose and swallow it whole as we weren't allowed to leave the table at school until it was finished. Sheer cruelty.
Liver is another thing I can't abide....used to get it in school dinners with tubes attached....even now I can feel my stomach heaving....:yuck:
Tripe....why, just why, would anyone want to eat that disgusting stuff?
Celery....I know weird, but I still can't stand it at all, even the smell of it.
Haggis when I was young, though I actually do enjoy it now once in a while. Lovely when incorporated into haggis & mozzerella filo parcels with a side salad and cumberland sauce.....:hungry:

I've ALWAYS hated cauliflower. My mum used to boil the living hell out of it until it just tasted grim.

school dinners - custard, dead man's leg, tapioca, mashed and boiled potatoes without butter, cabbage in watery liquid, and being forced to eat everything I didn't like which was most things there. I was a very fussy eater. But I liked the school milk after I had got used to having it without sugar:bag:

I think how your mum cooked things has a big impact on whether we like something or not My H would not eat green veg when we got married cos his mum had cooked cabbage until it was like a dish cloth but now I have had him for 50 years he will eat any thing but sprouts!

I think it was the way my mom used to cook 'em-they were like rubber and the texture made me gag-I like 'em now if they've been marinated in something and put on the BBQ:)
I'm with you on that one. I've had pork chops in the past that have been like eating a pair of doc martens
