Hello group, some reason I get no notifications and they're turned on the web browser and the phone app. Why is that It's really frustrating because when I type a topic and I leave the site It's like I get no look at post. Is it because the websites come from the UK and I'm in the United States Could that be the reason. Anyway here is my post what happen if you don't eat at all for a whole week or for two days What would happen Would Still because it are a diabetic Just curious. Just drink water What would happen. I'm just curious I know it's a stupid post but I'm curious what would happen

Many members on here experiment with some forms of fasting...

As a T1 on insulin I haven't tried it , as I'd have to eat if I misjudged my insulin and went low. I think fasting for other diabetics might depend on what medications you are on?

If you put "fast" or "fasting" into the search engine (top right) and just search titles you get quite a few threads
eg

I think anyone, diabetic or not, should be careful of fasting for a whole week though...

A lot of people do fast for varying lengths of time. There are several accounts on the forum.

I've done a 48 hr period almost by accident, as was on my own, busy, and wasn't hungry at all during it and simply didn't feel the need to eat. That was from 2-3pm on day one, through to 2-3 pm on day three, so only one full solar day without food in that 48 hr period. I'm quite used to 16-18 hrs without eating, and 24 fairly often. This is in the context of my keto way of eating (since 2019) that is around 20g carb/day, no calorie restriction or food limitation in other ways.

It didn't have any noticeable impact on my BG but that was at normal levels anyway. Same for fat/weight loss.

I've never done a longer fast and (for me) don't see the need to. I'd be very careful about starting anything like that, particularly from a standard way of eating.
