Thanks again for the good wishes. At least I can get myself out of the chair now - with difficulty. Walking is a nightmare though. Pain slightly reduced so I'm hopeful that it will all pass sometime soon. Still only one hand working but at least all the fingers on that hand are working. BG is fine but I've had very little food - just another can of tomato soup and one cup of tea. Plenty of water and pills.

It's not like any flu I ever had but must be something of the sort. The swollen hands are an unusual touch. Enough from me for today.

Keep clear of all potential lurgis, Night all.

I regard brandy as medicine!
You reminded me of a childhood memory. I was brought up in a Yorkshire doctor's surgery - although my dad was a coal miner my mum worked as a doctors receptionist. We lived in the house where the Drs surgery was on the ground floor and mum kept it clean and dealt with patients and records etc! One of our doctors used brandy as a treatment and once when our budgie fell off his perch he gave Joey a drop of brandy and Joey came back to life and carried on a few more months! My mum believed that Brandy shouldn't ever be drunk for pleasure as if needed in an emergency it wouldn't work! I also remember writing prescriptions when surgery closed and my friends called to play doctors! Nothing was locked up in those days around 60+ years ago.

Rest up and carry on recovering

That Christmas cake sounds lovely especially with the brandy soaked barberries added! I do think the high fibre and artificial sweetener content might not be for me though - I'm still a lot better with digestive issues and don't want to rock that boat too much!
Today's cake worked well and I managed 21 portions most of them now safely stashed in freezer

Those were more innocent times in many ways, weren't they?

Reminds me of being given whiskey, as a child, to treat toothache

Carby breakfast, then planning eggy lunch and chickeny tea (lunch and tea with vegetables) again - I'm not sure why I'm so samey at the moment but it's what I'm wanting so I'll roll with it.

I am snacking a bit but by no means at the same level as pre-GLP-1.

I've stalled with my tidying and decluttering. Although I've got rid of some things I seem to be just moving the rest around and not moving on to organising and putting away. At this point I'm sure the psychological element of whatever this is, is the biggest hurdle. I get so far, then come across something I don't want to deal with, or make a decison on, then everything stops.

It's a lovely sunny day here, so I'll feed the birds, get some washing done and see if I can chip away at the clutter a bit more. It really isn't that bad, and wouldn't take very long if I could just keep going.
