More blood tests, an echocardiogram and goodness knows what else on the cards now. This was a new (to me) GP, a locum; a young Indian woman looking like a 5th of 6th former. Still, she was pretty thorough, told me my kidneys are not as good as hoped but at least not any worse than before, my heart is slightly enlarged, there is still fluid on my lungs but it may be something to do with the fluid retention that I have had for years, which may all be to do with my heart. None of this was said to me before this and the GP that asked for the chest X-Ray wasn't even going to tell me the result.
Sending you a hug because of the investigations needed but also pleased that your Dr is going to look into your health issues - good luck hope your tests happen quickly so you may get some answers soon.

Finally letting go of some of the clutter I've shuffled around for years, so trips out to the charity shop and tip again today.

I've been having porridge for breakfast, salad for lunch and thai green curry for tea, which is finished now. Today breakfast will be porridge, lunch will be salad with tuna and tea will be something quick like cheesy beans with sausages.

Breakfast: crackers and turkey mayo. Tea.

Legs and blood test day today so can't take all of my tablets until I get home around 12.30. If I take my blood pressure tablets, they won't be able to get blood out of me. If I take diuretics, the same applies and in any case I wouldn't be able to leave the house.

2nd meal will be salad with whatever fish Neil can get for me today.

Awake at silly o'clock! Decided to get up rather than lie there tossing and turning. I might have a very early breakfast and get on with the day if I don't feel sleepy again within the hour.

@Annb, I hope you feel a bit better when you wake up today x

Woke at 02.30 - not surprising since I went to bed about 11.30 last night. Asleep by midnight so after 21/2 hours laying still, my knees and hips had had enough. I will sleep some more during the day - inevitably.

Breakfast was a quarter of a soda scone with bacon sandwiched in it. A bit bland, I was overcautious with the salt.

Neil did manage to get some sea bass for me yesterday so that will be my 2nd meal with some salad.

The sea bass was very good - just fried briefly. Very simple and very good.

Breakfast: avocado and a small piece (about 1/8) of the soda scone I made yesterday.

2nd meal will be a vegetable tagine and maybe a little defrosted rice, if I can find it in the freezer. If I can't find it, I'll do without.

Big cake to make for Friday, so I'll have to make a start on it today, if I can muster the energy. If I can manage it, it will be a 3 layer cake - 3 layers, 3 flavours - chocolate, vanilla and raspberry with chocolate ganache coating and choc cream filling. Just hope Neil can get me some raspberries when he goes to town on Monday.

Out to late breakfast with friends at a farm shop, it was lovely and I also picked up freezer stocks of their amazing sausages.

Skipped lunch and I'm just making another thai green curry which should last a couple of days at least, depending on how hungry I am.

Back to tidying/decluttering/organising tomorrow, but first I need to set up a grow light station in the box room, where the chillies and pepper plants will live - I won't be putting those outside as they never really get going even in the polytunnel. Hoping a little more light (and heat from the morning sun on the window) will make them happy. The space is ready for them after decluttering and tidying the other day, so it's just setting up now.

Just been informed that what is needed is dozens of small cupcakes - not one large cake and not muffin sized ones. About 50 folk, including children are anticipated at the party so it will be 3 different flavoured cupcakes, or maybe 4 with fancy party style toppings. Just as well I didn't muster the energy to make a start today.

Didn't find the rice, by the way, so it was just the tagine. It was enough though and there's plenty left for breakfast tomorrow.

Breakfast was porridge,, lunch was sausages with salad and tea was the rest of the thai green curry, I couldn't stop eating it! It had baby corn in this time, and a few runner beans from the freezer.

I did some shuffling around of things upstairs and still didn't get the grow station set up yet! Tomorrow I need to deep clean the kitchen because I'm getting a water meter fitted on Tuesday. Luckily the under sink cupboards are spotless and decluttered because of the flood the other day :hilarious:

Breakfast was the last of the veg tagine with another couple of fried eggs on top. Tea. No rhubarb yoghurt left.

2nd meal will be pan fried haddock with some peas.

Today I really must get those cupcakes done. Just haven't felt like it recently. I must be mad - I've allowed myself to be pressured into singing at the upcoming party. I vowed never to do that again since my lungs have been causing difficulties (it has a rather detrimental effect on holding notes sometimes). Someone else is going to have to play a guitar for me - unaccompanied solos are not for me any more.

I hope it goes well. I envy you - I lost my singing voice after I turned 70, and I miss it. Hope the lungs do well.
My lungs started to go in my 60's - noticed it first while singing in a carol concert, and in my 70's a medic told me I had the lungs of a 90 year old, but the reason for that was never investigated. Right now I still have some fluid on my lungs and I can feel it some of the time. Still, I try to pull my weight (not insignificant) and join in with the spirit of these events.

I can't carry a tune in a bucket, never could... it doesn't stop me from belting out a few tunes to the radio in the shower though :hilarious:

I hope it goes really well for you! x

I've got a cold, probably from the supermarket, rather than hospital - it might be a bit too soon to be from the farm shop trip. I had a normal appetite this morning, had porridge for breakfast and sausages with salad for lunch, but my appetite has really gone so I've just had a lemon yogurt for an early tea and will likely be off to bed with some paracetamol very soon.

I got my kitchen done ready for the water meter person tomorrow, at least!
