What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Food today...

Didn't even have my usual chocolate first thing....sigh...I was sleeping/meditating instead...and when I saw the sun, I got up.

So breakfast of eggs and cheese stirred but not nuked in the microwave ...

It took me longer than I thought to do shopping. It was too hot.

So it was 2pm I had the remainder of the cold chicken, and some cooked pork shank just bought from Morrison's. And some cheese coleslaw and Branston pickle coleslaw. No idea what the carbs were in it.

Then retired to the potting shed with cat and Montezuma's dark chocolate buttons...73% and coffee with cream, and fell asleep, the buttons untouched...so far.

Going to take a bg reading and see how many chocolate buttons I deserve...

Will update in a mo...and when I have a cuppa.

So far, 2 mugs coffee with cream, loads water and I put a scrap of salt in it.

I don't think I have eaten enough today, but 3:30 pm is too late for me to eat.

>^..^<

UPDATE: bg is 8.6 and it is nearly 4 pm.

I am still going to have a few chocolate buttons...I fancy them !

I have my laser eye op thingy on Friday and am tensed up over it.

@BibaBee just seen your post. I am so sorry for you both having this worry. Thank heavens they agreed to bring the appointment forward and I hope they will be able to resolve Mr B’s problem without too much drama (on their part) or discomfort (on Mr B’s part). I will be thinking of you and sending you hugs, hugs and hugs.
PS. Did you mean you also have an eye problem?
Surely no more lemons! Let us know how it goes. Will keep everything crossed!

Oh Bibabee.... many hugs for you, and prayers for MrB. I'm very glad the hospital was able to reschedule. I very very much understand the "this is how I'm going to be forever" mindset, and my hat is off to you for your stalwart love and care.

Thank you! No, touch wood, my eyes are fine.

Edit: I see now what you were referring to! I meant I had something in my eye, in other words I was a bit tearful with @ianpspurs kind words.

I was already wondering about breakfast, as I hadn't noticed you eating it, the whole time I've been here I think. I've discovered (I think!) that protein at bfast is not good. Also.... 3sq heavily caffeinated 90% choc is not good. Bummer on that one! Seems I have to give it up frequently, numbers settle out, add choc, stable for a few days, then up she rises. @gennepher I will have to borrow your chocolate scheduling patterns!
So it seems my historical bests, given I must eat breakfast, come with 2MAD -- bfast and supper (also have to eat that!).

We Americans love us our breakfast casserole! That quiche served at breakfast just is a casserole. These are also made on a base of baguette slices for those who can. My SIL made a huge batch for our wedding breakfast after the ceremony. Yum! (1980....they've been around for awhile. You make them up the night before, stick in friDGE, bake when you need.)

So it's "dunnies" again eh? Ok! They do involve nuking, but could also be baked.
Equal parts flax meal and water. Flavor to taste. Let sit for a few, to get the water absorbed. Spread out on parchment to desired thickness, from one flake to juicy generous, cook until crispy. Also I have it on my CMT.

Its the language thing again. To me a casserole is meat cooked slowly in liquid so you get ( hopefully) a good rich sauce at the end. The DD and other US based recipe sites seem to mean something more solid. It confused me to begin with, but whatever it’s name, it’s jolly nice.

Many congratulations @ianpspurs on your latest little arrival. Is it Fifi or has a more traditional name appeared?
I'm way behind - been too hot to stay indoors so I have a lot of catching up to do.
Monday Bed 6.4 FBG was also 6.4. I got a day off! It was the "walking bus" week so the boys and Mum were walking to school and Mum was getting them again in the afternoon. I was busy with more gutting but mixed it with going outside as it was really warm. Also started the process of washing all the sofa/chair covers.
B. TAG with ADOC. 3 mozzarella, pork and tomato sausages, 3 rashers crispy streaky bacon, 1 fried egg and a mushroom.
L. Nothing except lots of water.
D. Chimichurri beef kebab , veggie kebab of mushroom, peppers and onion. Little lettuce, mini plum tomato, cucumber, 1/2 avocado, helmans.
SF jelly , raspberries and cream.
25g Montezuma black forest chocolate.
Tuesday bed 6.5 FBG 5.2
Back to normal - school run and pick up although after the school run Hubby & I took a run to Dobbies to see what plants are available and have breakfast.
B. 1 GF sausage, 1 rasher back bacon, 1 fried egg, 1 slice GF toast. Hubby got the hash brown and the beans. Black coffee.
L. Nothing.
D. Veal escalope with a marsala sauce, mushrooms, green medley mix of veg and a few veggie chips.
Yet more jelly, raspberries and cream. I've discovered it seems the longer I keep the SF jelly in the fridge the aftertaste lessens. Barely detectable now.
Will catch up on some posts before I get today's done.

BibaBee, that sounds very stressful for you both. I do hope there will be some better news tomorrow. Chin up. You obviously have good friends in this forum.

@BibaBee so sorry to hear about mr B hope you get help and reassurance from specialist sounds alarming and worrying for you both
@ianpspurs im a breakfast fan I tend to do better with my bgs with it. However I try to delay till 10am and finish my third meal by 6pmwhenever I can. I find smaller meals regularly produce best results for me. Maybe give it a try? When I don’t my bgs go up especially if stressed. My bgs do go right down if I fast over a long period ie more than a day but I do less well on Omad.
Brunch - had to leave early and like to have restricted eating window - prawns, smoked salmon and a few salad leaves with olive oil followed by four squares of 100% choc
Dinner lamb chop, cauliflower cheese with small glass red wine followed by sf jelly and cream

I wish the sun would come back. I feel in huge need of some warming rays.
No breakfast. Tea.
Nordic walking. Just a short one between the rain showers.
Coffee with cream
LC bread with assorted cheese (cottage, cheddar and Gorgonzola), toms, cucumber, paprika. Some nuts.
Dinner. Meat balls, zucchini spaghetti, broccoli and lovely tomato sauce. Parmesan on top.
Yoghurt and berries. A glass of red.
Will see tonight if that was all too much of a good thing.
@ ianpspurs Enjoy your trip to deepest Suffolk. How lovely to meet your newest granddaughter. That is so exciting.

So sorry to hear this. Sending hugs and thoughts. Take care. xx
