Hi debrasue, Burgen is Burgen Bread [Soya and Linseed] I get it from Asda but should think other supermarkets will have it. There are quite a few of us on here who eat it. Also if you can get to a Lidl supermarket they do a high protein roll [ shaped like a triangle] from the fresh bakery they have there, 29p each, you will see in the forum " What Have You Eaten Today " that these are mentioned a lot as a lot of us have them. Hope this is of help to you. What's burgen please?
It's what happens to you if you eat polyol sweetened confectionery, quite often marketed as diabetic confectionary. Polyol doesn't have the same affect on BG as sugar does but very often gives people very bad wind, tummy ache or diarrhoea - or, in my case, all three. Thorntons used to make the most gorgeous polyol containing nut toffee but after two pieces of it I found out it should have been marketed as a cure for constipation. What's poly-trots?

Happy hunting!Thank you very much! I will go to the A...... jungle and investigate...
Meant to sprinkle with flax seed but forgot
Thanks for the cauliflower ideas! Roasted with chilli and lime sounds lovely. Cauliflower cheese is also on my list of things to make. I have a couple of courgettes (one white, one green) to make noodles with, probably tomorrow with a bit of salmon!I wouldn't say I'm a great lover of veg either but I have found ways of making some things very enjoyable. Firstly cauliflower has become my best friend and usual carb substitute. Try mashing with butter and mustard - just like potato. Roast it with some chilli flakes and finish with a squeeze of lime or grate it to make cauliflower rice and stir fry with any herbs and spices you like. Shred some cabbage and boil until cooked. Fry bacon, onion and garlic in butter then add the cabbage. Add some double creamMake courgetti using a spiraliser and dry fry with salt and pepper. Once cooked add a knob of butter.
It's bread, with soya and linseed. 11g carbs per slice. You can get it in most supermarkets with the normal bread. It's very nice. What's burgen please?
Mmmm, that looks good - thanks very much!Recipe for breadless pudding:

Cold meats - especially the spicier herby stuff, could be useful - kabanos, polish sausage, biltong, chorizo, salami, that kind of thing. Also tuna mayo, marinated chicken, mackerel, prawns. Add any of those to a hearty salad and you've got a decent lunch. I would add plenty of mayo if you're looking to keep your fats up. Maybe avocados, too?I need help. My work meals have to be reasonably substantial for energy but has to be cold as I haven't got access to the kitchen as it is in use at that time AND it has to look like a proper meal as I have to sit down at the table with the residents to eat it. Also, for work reasons, (important this) it can't look like cheese, eggs or beetroot. And, at the moment, due to BAD they must be under 350 calories / 8g carbs. PLEASE give me suggestions. I like cold crustless eggy things but not every day and I'm running out of inspiration.
Throws in smoked salmon, olives, coleslaw, coronation chicken (curry flavoured mayo). pickles (like gerkins and pickled onion but watch which because some are high in carbs)Cold meats - especially the spicier herby stuff, could be useful - kabanos, polish sausage, biltong, chorizo, salami, that kind of thing.
