What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Does nt understand anyone "need" for yogurt. Vile stuff but each to their own.

B. Raspberries and cream

L. 2 mini bel and half a Lidl roll

D. Bacon, egg, mushrooms and tomato

S. Half Lidl roll with marmite
 
Day 6 of Week 1 of 800 Calories Week Blood Sugar Diet - FBG: 5.1 :)

Breakfast: Usual Lidl Turkish yoghurt with a teaspoon of Monin gingerbread sugar free syrup

Lunch: @GeoffersTaylor 's Broccoli and Stilton soup

Work meal: Remaining Roasted Cherry tomato and asparagus fruitless quiche, leftover peppers, fennel and mushrooms salad
 
800 calories??? Wow - that sounds daunting!

It's certainly not easy but it has been very effective at bringing my fasting blood test right down (so far). I keep telling myself to stop being a wimp and that I can do anything just for 8 weeks... LOL.

In fact according to the book it isn't necessarily for 8 weeks, it's until I find my own 'Personal Fat Threshold' below which (hopefully) my visceral fat from around my liver and pancreas reduce enough that they start working properly. That's the theory anyway. We'll see. Hmmmm :)

I quite like yoghurt but I don't really understand a need for it apart from when it's applied(!) for thrush or when used as a probiotic.

Well, I'll follow your progress with interest, as it sounds as if it's something I may need to resort to! I imagine my liver and pancreas are waving white flags... :-(
 
B: Scrambled eggs, coffee with milk
L: Chicken, lambs lettuce & pea shoots, half an apple, salad dressing; raspberries and cream
D: (will be) Salmon, baked Mediterranean vegetables, stuffed mushrooms and 1 slice almond bread, strawberries
Snacks - Almonds
Cals: 1682; Carbs 50.9
Readings today: Fasting 8.3/Two hours after breakfast 7.1/Two hours after lunch 6.1/Now (before dinner) 4.3
Still got water retention, but it's not as bad.
And, I got my "whoosh"!! I got on the scales this morning and have lost 10lbs in my first week. (OK, I know that won't last, but it's a pretty good start and it certainly put a big smile on my chops this morning!) :-)
 
B- 2 fried eggs & tomato, little grated cheese and seed sprinkle on top, little bit of G. yogurt with berries
L- coffee with cream
D- mackerel and boiled egg with cucumber, olives, broccoli, gherkin & butter, G.yogurt with seed& nut sprinkle. bran and chopped 1/3 apple ......'BURB'....:angelic::D

D Mackerel,celeriac chips and stir fried pak choi

D. Surprise visit to Indian restaurant chicken tikka starter followed by chicken balti were on track. Additions which were not LCHF were 1 poppadom and half a chapatti.
 
B- cup of tea
L- 1/2 protein cob with butter, cheese and boiled egg
D- will be roast chicken with steamed broccoli & butter, some Turkish yogurt with berry sauce..and added spoonful of bran to 'flush' it all down ;)
Hi were do you get the Turkish yogurt from please ?

Hi all Yesterday a bit of an experiment
B 2 poached eggs / 2 slices burgen bread
L 3 rivitas / mackeral spread in wholegrain mustard / 1 nectarine / 1 plum
S A handful of mixed nuts
D Tin of mackeral fillets in tomato sauce / half a can of pea and ham soup / 1 slice wholemeal bread
 
Todays meals
B Tomato / mushrooms / half a Lidl roll
L 4 Jacobs multigrain crackers / mackeral spread in wholegrain mustard / 1 nectarine
S a few nuts
D poached egg / tomato and mushrooms half a Lidl roll
BG reading after dinner 5.7
 
B: courgette & pecan cake (found at the back of the freezer. Several slices there. Found when looking for Lidl rolls, of which there were none :eek:.) Skyr yoghurt
L: cold roast beef, salad leaves
D: meatballs in tomato sauce, garlic mushrooms, cauli mash
