What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Been away at the Commonwealth Games. Food choices were a little erratic, but back home with a bang. Slow cooked lamb shoulder with a bit of ‘crackling’ made in the air fryer. Yum. Not OMAD as I finished up the contraband nuts I’d brought home with me earlier.

Editing to add @DJC3 @MrsA2 @Rachox the SW doesn’t have a monopoly on blackberries - in full bloom along the canals of Brum!

Breakfast was yoghurt with blueberries and pecans. No lunch but I’ve just had four ryvita with peanut butter as dinner won’t be ready for a while. Dinner will be chicken thighs with salad. Curious what effect the ryvita will have on my bg. Hopefully not too high a spike but dinner is quite low carb.

I agree @Goonergal my late parents house is in the SE!

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and blackberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a PE bar.
Dinner: same as yesterday salmon and cream cheese on a LC bread roll, coleslaw and two baby tomatoes (red ones today) followed by SF strawberry jelly and cream.

Edit for typo

Early yoga, so broke fast at 10:30 with 1 cold kofta and 1 cold sausage left from last night.

1 p.m. a 90 second bread topped with melted cheese and ham

Had found some hazelnuts in the back of the cupboard and my freezer was bare of lc treats so got baking. Some nice hazelnut biscuits and a stunning hazelnu ice cream, but far too many were eaten while I cooked and tasted and licked spoons etc.

Would have skipped dinner but hubby cooked and couldn't have his face fall as he takes it as a personal affront so had lc chicken and green bean curry, no rice, just the meat and beans

Looks like ryvita is one to avoid. I didn’t measure before but it can’t have been high. After, 7.5.

Another day when I haven’t felt like eating much.
Had full fat greek yogurt and walnuts for brunch at 12:30. With black coffee x2.
Late afternoon, more coffee and a stick of celery with some crunchy peanut butter. Decaff coffee.
Almost time to retire for the night. Slightly peckish, so will make hot cocolate drink with 85% chocolate, coconut milk and a blob of cream. Puts my eating window out of sync, but I will compensate by having no breakfast in the morning.
To be clear, that means I will have my usual Sunday egg, bacon etc , just have it late. Around 2pm should do it.

Vegimite on toast for brekfast as my insides were giving me a hard time.
No smoko for the same reason.
Small cottage pie (mre) for a light lunch.
Tuasted cheese sandwich for sipper at six.

Feel abit better this morning, new Fentany 50mcgl patch on has helped, and I doubled up on the Oxcodone IR 10mg as well.

Hi All
Yesterday and today slice LC toast and lots of tea. Was out to lunch with friends yesterday and chose grilled chicken and green salad made very tasty by a small serving of Mushroom & Tarragon sauce. An hour later my Libre was reading 5.4 so happy with that. Drank lots of water, they did carafes of complimentary chilled fizzy water which was a nice touch. Supper around 7 was a Waitrose Chicken Shaslik no additions required. Lunch today will be scrambled eggs and supper will be chicken traybake with lots of Med veg, olives, etc.

Oddly enough, my B G is no worse today than it has been on days when I've toed the line. Odd that.

Having said that - BG these days is usually far too high. And last night it shot up to 16.4 dropping to 12.4 by 2.30 am and there it stayed when I got up. Still at 12.6 after 2 cups of tea. Just taken my basal dose and a bolus dose (full amount that the pen will deliver - 60u) and will have some scrambled eggs on 1 slice of wholemeal toast (usually doesn't put BG up) in about half an hour. With any luck BG should come down a bit.

Later I will have some kedgeree made with cauli rice and some fish left over from yesterday. May, or may not, add hard boiled egg.

Edit: It did come down - 2 hours later, it's down to 7.4 and falling. So one slice of home made wholemeal bread is not too much carb. 2 probably would be.

Morning all. Still out of sorts so am going to eat less today again. I have lamb's liver with green veg for lunch and teatime salad with boiled eggs and maybe 1 Ryvita. I bought a lot of packs of Ryvitas on special offer from Sainsbury's a while ago and have nearly finished them so am going to change to Crackerbread which are less carbs. Anything to get the carb content down and not feel deprived! Enjoy your Subday.

No kedgeree for me today. Around 12.30 pm my stomach was really sore and I drank some water to try to make it feel better. Next thing I knew I was rushing to the toilet with a huge pain in my abdomen. That has continued over the rest of the afternoon and although it has calmed down a bit, I think no more food today would be the best option. Plenty of water though to keep up the hydration. Maybe this is the payback for yesterday's performance.

Same here, anything with grains, especially wheat, gives a higher rise then the number of carbs should

B: 1 cold sausage and some hm lc yoghurt
Walk and blackberry pick with a friend
L: some hm lc cauliflower cheese savoury squares, topped with Polish ham and a teaspoon coleslaw. Olives and cucumber on the side. Blackberries and yoghurt. 2 sqs 85% choc. 2 hazelnut biscuits (was very hungry)
D: roast chicken with greens, broccoli and carrot. A little hm lc hazelnut icecream. Tastes quite sweet, think the sweetener tastes stronger than real sugar.

I've now been a full week without any wine or other alcohol in the hope it was that causing my small weight gain. No change to the weight, yet
