What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Hi All ..so back to Tuesday….as usual brekkie is a slice of LC toast and copious tea. Lunch was buttery scrambled eggs and the same lunch today in an effort to move eggs going out of date along. I get local farm eggs in the village shop but they have gone up 59p for 6 in the last few weeks and not so many are sold so dates are short. Luckily I love scrambled eggs! Supper yesterday was hot chicken and mixed salad. Tonight will be chunky cod fingers with the remains of the salad.
@Antje77 hope you are feeling better and I am in love with your Poes! I have a real soft spot for ginger cats. All this talk of Barnsley chops is too much, need to have one very soon.

Is it safe to skip eating all day when on no Carb or sugar?

Hi …. I have just started my second week of Ozempic and today I have not felt hungry all day. Is it safe to skip eating completely today?

Last week I stopped all sugar and carbs, and stuck to green leafy veg, meat, Greek yogurt and berries. Lost 7 kg over the week and Glucose is 4.6 this evening, before eating anything, just had a few black teas. Last thing I ate was yesterday at 8 pm, so 22 hour fast so far…. Should I leave eating until tomorrow morning… Very busy next three days!

B: ff greek with seeds and raspberries
L: a white roll with camemebrt (am in last few days of a libre so using it to test things). Wont be having another, was a high but short spike and the taste didn't equal the craving.
Mini hm lc chocolate and raspbery ice cream. Tastes very indulgent but is very low carb. Will put recipe in my cmt for anyone interested. I freeze the mix in either lollypop moulds or silicone cake cases
D: paprika chicken with cabbage. 1 sq Sainsburys 90% choc, don't like this one. Won't be buying it again

Made myself a fathead pizza today. Got the base just right.

Other food was Greek yoghurt and cream and buttered Schneider Brot.

That looks amazing!!!! Where do i find the recipe for that? Beyond delicious!!!!

No breakfast because of PT in the park at 10:00. When I got home builder and electrician were working in the kitchen so just squeezed past to make coffee and grab a DGF cake. Not my ideal breakfast but I was v hungry.
L- bacon and cheese in SLC roll. Handful of nuts.
D- digging in bottom of freezer and found some Iceland ( shop) Wild Red Shrimp in tomato and chilli sauce - as recommended by @maglil55 yonks ago. I’d forgotten about these, still tasty. Served with asparagus and cauli rice and an extra glug of cream.
@Tamarillo I had to Google turtle beans, I’d never heard them called that.
@Outlier I haven’t had fresh hazelnuts since I was a child, I bet they tasted wonderful.
Im going to try to get a Barnsley chop for tomorrows dinner!

Generally yes, but….

that might change things. No idea how it works. Probably best to check the patient information leaflet or ask the prescriber.
Thanks for the advice... much appreciated.

Medication leaflet does not say anything about skipping meals, and Doc on holiday for the next few weeks... I think i will have a few small cubes of pork ( pinchos morunos) and a leaf salad with a tomato and bit of red pepper.

If you Google ‘fathead pizza’ you’ll get lots of options.

I used the following:

For the base:

- Roughly 80g grated mozzarella (watch the carb content if buying pre-grated, varying amounts of potato starch are added)
- 25-30g full fat cream cheese
- About 35g ground almonds

Toppings:

Whatever you want, plus more cheese and a tomato sauce if desired (I don’t use tomato as I find it too sweet).
My toppings were pepperoni and polish sausage.

Melt the mozzarella and cream cheese together in the microwave (or stove top). Add the ground almonds and mix thoroughly into a dough.

Roll out and bake until golden brown - I put it on a metal sheet with holes (the inner part of a quiche dish!) and it fried it for 8 minutes, but you can use the oven too.

Then flip over, add toppings and bake again for about the same time.

You are a star, i was just googling "Fathead Pizza", when you replied. I did not realise that was the actual name of that type of Pizza!. I will definitely make one next week following your recipe!....
BTW... is that ground almond or almond flour... Never ever used the stuff before.

@Stephen Bond
You might like this site of recipes. UK measurements and quite easy
There's also diet doctor

Ground almonds - much cheaper than almond flour and do much the same job unless you’re a professional patisserie chef!

Got it!

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and anot her carb killa bar.
Dinner: bacon rolls (LC ones) with a smidge of ketchup followed by SF cherry jelly and cream.

I still cannot get used to the fact that things like bacon and cream are not really bad for you... Didn't stop me eating them but i always felt really guilty.

What is "LC" and "SF" are they brands of products?

Thanks!! What a great site!!1
