A Lidl shop, nothing out if the ordinary and it came to £124, was expecting £80 eeek!!!
D: steak with broccoli and green beans. Added a sauce from the meat juices, grain mustard and a splash of cream.
Small coffee ice cream, and 2 small glasses red wine

I know there are recipes online but does anyone have any favourite low carb soup recipes?

I was thinking a good chicken one? Or maybe an unusual one? Cheese based maybe? I have no idea.. just been craving soup now I have LC bread

Obviously not onion

German leek and cheese soup!
(Look it up, it's basically leeks, minced meat, a stock cube and cheese.)

I make it with 'smeerkaas' (the way a German taught me), not sure what smeerkaas is in English but it's a spreading cheese with a strong cheese flavour. No risk of separation like with grated cheese and much cheaper too.

Ohhh maybe it’s a type of cream cheese? I’ll have a Google thank you!

I've got a few saved on my CMT that I've made

A Thai one

Another Thai one with shrimp

A quick store cupboard soup I discovered recently. It's useful as a sauce (especially with fish) as well as a quick soup.

The good old standby, tomato soup!

That's a few to be going on with.

Thank you so much! These sound interesting, I’ll have a look.

I’d love to try the tomato one but find too much tomato actually raises my BG, but I can try and test - tomato is a fave

At least you remembered to set your timer before walking out of earshot. You’re one step more efficient than me!

I’ve made this a few times, everyone in my family loves it.

That link is from the app, hope it works. It’s DietDoctor.com broccoli cheddar soup

This sounds delicious. Love both cheese and broccoli, thank you

One may set a timer sometimes. Ahem.

Our rhubarb crown came from someone else in the village who had split it from a much larger patch at their long term, multigenerational family home (proper old money), so our rhubarb is allegedly well over 100 years old.

Perhaps your neighbour could split his crown and donate some to you sometime. It benefits from splitting periodically.

Not slightly burnt: caramelised

You can get almond cream?! I’ll have to look for that next time I shop… I usually alternate between hazelnut, soy, almond and macadamia ‘milks’ but cream sounds nice
Sorry half asleep! Almond milk/double cream. I wonder if its possible to get almond cream, now there's a thought......

Morning All
Loving this talk of cheesey soup, its certainly the weather for soup
Thanks @DJC3 will give that Cheesey Broccoli one a go. @shelley262 can you tell me the benefit of AVC without going too off thread. I am maintaining within 30g carbs/day still but my BG is slipping.
So back to Thursday.
Brekkie slice of LC toast, good butter and copious tea.
Lunch was small plate chopped salad with two slices of ham.
Supper was chunky cod fingers with green beans.
yesterday same brekkie.
Lunch was out and was a cheese & tomato omelette and Coke Zero.
Supper was cod loin baked with dash of Teriyakee sauce and diced peppers, peas.
Today same brekkie.
Lunch will be using up some farmhouse cheese (Durris) which needs using up with a bit of chopped salad.
Supper will either be a lamb chop if I can find a good one when I buy Mr PM’s lamb liver later which I will panfry with mushrooms before handing the pan & kitchen over to him. Can’t deal with offal. Ow I will do myself a stirfry with Indian spices and stir in cauli rice.

Re ACV this is copied from the BBC Good Food website.

“To date, the evidence of ACV’s use as a means of aiding blood sugar management is the most impressive of all its claims. A number of studies have suggested that as part of a meal containing carbohydrate, cider vinegar may improve glucose and insulin levels after you’ve finished eating. Its method of action is thought to be similar to that of the blood-sugar-lowering drug metformin.

Another study examining the consumption of 2 tbsp of ACV at bedtime found improved glucose levels on waking. It’s worth noting, however, that the success of ACV in this area appears to be most relevant for healthy individuals or diabetics with well-controlled blood sugar levels.

Moreover, if you take prescription medication to help manage your blood sugar, you should check with your GP before you increase the intake of any form of vinegar.”
