Morning all. Cellulitis swellings are going down and headache not quite so bad. The eyelids are crusty so are just a bit uncomfortable. @DJC3, the hospital rushed a prescription to my local chemist and I got anti-biotics and anti-histamines. I had never heard of it round the eyes either and I asked him if he was sure! The pain actually comes from the headache. It's called peri-orbital cellulitis and I looked it up online and it seems to be quite common. Never too old to learn something new! Yesterdays meal was sausage, eggs and tomatoes. For tea, some ham, cheese and beetroot. Today I will have 2 air-fried chicken legs and perhaps a tin of salmon for tea. Have a good day all.
Your quick method is pretty much what I do in the IP, although I just use a generous spoonful, and sometimes a tablespoon of dried coconut milk. I mix the starter, dried granules with a little milk, to ensure it’s well mixed, then stir it i. Big ignore overnight. Hey presto. To make yoghurt over last few years I've always used specific starters with a wider range of gut friendly bacteria so that different benefits to the standard yoghurt you buy. they really all do taste different and I culture onwards for about a month from the starter culture which reduces cost of buying starter cultures. I'm currently reculturing an L reuteri one and also a bififo yoghurt - both have bacteria we may be short of because of antibiotics. However decided when shopping yesterday to grab a small pot of yeo valley organic yoghurt and some long life whole milk to try out the quick yoghurt many use. I just put a litre of long life whole milk in the ceramic pot of my yoghurt maker and whisked in my pot of yoghurt and just programmed my yoghurt maker and got thick creamy yoghurt after 12 hours woke up this:

Spend for a litre of yoghurt was £1.20 for long life milk and 89p for small yoghurt but expecting it to reculture at least five times you keep a bit in a pot to make next batch. I will still carry on making my more fiddly unusual friendly bacteria ones but also keep up with this quick yoghurt - it is cheaper and doesn't even need straining.
My kefir grains are also growing and culturing well so will have good quality hm kefir soon.
Food today
Brunch scrambled a couple of eggs and had with a slice of lower carb bread toasted ( found some reduced yellow stickered Hilo loaves in Sainsbury's yesterday so split and froze them) then a cocktail of yoghurts with a spoon of each of my three current yoghurts with a spoon of cooked rhubarb.
Dinner of hm chilli and slice of low carb garlic bread then hm LC chocolate bun and decaffeinated coffee.
That tikka dish looks fab.For lunch today I air-fried a slightly disfigured spatchcock poussin. I couldn't be bothered cooking again, so for dinner I visited the local Indian takeaway and they gave me a lamb tikka dish with a side salad.

That’s quite a lot of wobbly water there DJC.Early post for me as I’m doing a virtual wine tasting this evening! It’s run by the company I bought the lovely low carb lager from, they also sell low carb and low cal wine. Most are fairly low alcohol too, but that’s probably not a bad thing.
B- scrambled egg
L- tuna melt muffin. A slight variation in @Rachox ‘s recipe - this uses blitzed cottage cheese in place of the mayo and sour cream. H/m yoghurt with raspberries and seeds.
D- gammon steak, cauli cheese, and steamed greens. Choc chia pud to follow. View attachment 66417
Definitely a prize!Do I get prize for several in a row, or is it just because I’m awake at what appears to be bonkers o’clock, even though it’s 08:30 here?
Still behind - Arrrh! Friday 16 February bed 7.8 FBG 6.1.
B. TAG and on return from the Eye Pavilion, 2 slices of SRSLY toast with tuna and mayo. Benecol dairy free.
L. Nothing
D. Gammon steak with cauliflower cheese and a few small bits of peach. A scoop of Halo Top with raspberries.
The journey to the Eye Pavilion was a nightmare. A culvert on the main route collapsed, totally closing the route. It was a very early start after working out a through city route. Thankfully, my results were good. The vision is still excellent. The pressure had increased again, but they are now convinced that it is caused by thickened corneas, not any disease. No return for a year. Whoop!
I'm going to try making the diet doctors cheesecake recipe you recommended this weekend - although I've been working out quantities for a smaller 8inch tin version as just for the two of us - although will still probably freeze some. I've also got cooked lemons left over from the rhubarb cooking earlier in week so may liquidise a whole cooked lemon sans pips of course to give it a deep lemon flavour it worked so well in my lemon and ginger buns. Will report back at weekend if do it.
Sounds interesting. How does the coating taste??In that case, no, a cheese platter wouldn't be the right dessert!
What about something with raspberries and cream? A fruity dessert sounds nice after lots of cheese.
Like @Rachox I had runner beans (with blue cheese) and a cheesy dish.
Mine was 'kaasschnitzels' (cheese schnitzels) like my mum used to make, except mine are low carb. Instead of the two layers of breading she used, I used one layer of almond meal to prevent leaking, and one layer of crushed pork scratchings, and I surprised myself by frying them perfectly!

Hiya I did wonder about that I tend to always use less sweetener. Planning on doing tomorrow will keep you posted.I forgot to mention, I only use a fraction of the quantity of erythritol in the recipe. I find the cream cheese and almond flour gives a little sweetness, so I only add a small amount - a spoonful or 2.
Know how you feel there have been lots of grey days.I got so excited when sky suddenly went blue and Sun came out mid morning I rushed out to take a picture of one of my garden daffodils - well it is St David's Day and thought time to have a new flower of the month for my avatar.Morning all, fed up with the weather now, I may even have to resort to doing the ironing!
Yesterday
B Yog,raspberries,seeds
L Leek and spinach soup, assortment of bits and bobs from the fridge, cheese, salami, olives, salady things
D Salmon fillet,celeriac mash,green beans and asparagus
Very nice and crispy!Sounds interesting. How does the coating taste??
Looks amazing I'd also recommend cauliflower mash if you use a stick blender to puree it really does taste a lot like potato mash. I pureed two cooked cauliflowers into mash yesterday with plan to leave in container in fridge and reheat portions over next few days but when went to get from fridge before dinner it had gone missing. of course I'd accidentally shoved it in freezer and not portioned so had to give it a miss! For St Davids day I had Welsh lamb steaks with broccoli, low-carb mash and some mint jus. Well the mash was previously frozen so will have become starch resistant. Plus I buttered it well. Plus I didn't have much. Plus I haven't had mash in such a long time...

Thank you. It was quite nice. I've had cauliflower rice, but will have to purée it and see what it's like as mash.Looks amazing I'd also recommend cauliflower mash if you use a stick blender to puree it really does taste a lot like potato mash.
