Brew a mug full of really nice coffee. Take a tablespoon of butter and a tablespoon of coconut oil. Whizz up the fats and the coffee together in a blender. Pour into your mug and enjoy!
It was surprisingly good -and very filling - half is in the freezer for another day. It didn't really have the same texture as pastry - more like crumbly shortbread and the weird topping was very nice. Any filling would be nice but ours was a good way of using up the turkey leg meat, stuffing balls and pigs in blankets.@Chook that recipe looks good. Thank you
Today - first day of 800 cal Blood Sugar Diet
Breakfast and lunch: Nothing
Dinner: Crack Slaw - red cabbage, lamb mince and blue cheese (gorgonzola)
I think that is the first time I have EVER drooled at the thought of 800 cals/day.
I obviously need more crackslaw. Withdrawal is setting in...
It tastes lovely - somehow creamy and slightly coconutty - and it's surprisingly filling. What's it taste like?
Chook I know you have Michael Moseley's book (obviously!) and noticed you had lamb mince yesterday. Don't know if you have tried his recipe with the aubergine and lamb mince from the book but it is really tasty. Must admit it is another recipe I have slight variations on. I have done it using lamb leg steak chopped up, same spices but added feta cheese, pine nuts and pomegranate to the mix. I love it but I am a big fan of aubergine.Today:
Same as yesterday....

......and 1/2 a swedeB. Poached egg with 3 bits of grilled streaky bacon and 3 cherry tomatoes. Black Tea.
L. Slice Tesco's High Protein Farmhouse (back in stock today - yay!) 1/2 small tin of reduced sugar baked beans. Less sugar latte.
D. Hubby has made an enormous pot of broth packed with every vegetable known to mankind by the looks of it. I doubt I will eat anything else after a plate of that! He made his stock with boiling beef and as well as broth mix he packed it with, sprouts , leeks , celery , onions , grated carrots , cauliflower, tenderstem broccoli , marrow fat peas, mixed shredded greens - spoon is almost standing upright of its own accord!
