What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Good morning everyone :)

My BG was 4.4 when I went to bed last night and my FBG was 6.3 this morning. :( I would have thought it now being day 4 of week 3 of this BSD that it would be lower by now.

Breakfast and lunch: Nothing

Dinner: Chicken thighs in a parmesan, paprika, garlic, lemon zest, oregano and chilli coating with ???? Possibly sour cream dip and salad OR red cabbage bake and roasted butternut squash. I haven't decided yet but my head says salad and dip whereas my stomach wants the red cabbage and butternut.

Supper/snack: Sugar free jelly and / or blueberries and raspberries

Still good figures Chook. I never did get my chicken last night with 2 active boys staying. So dinner consisted of 4 slices of Lidl's German sausage mix and 2 walnuts with a couple of pints of water. Trying to keep hubby's cold at bay too so spraying First Defence up my nostrils as well!
The 2 active boys were up and about at 6.30am so FBG was a little early. I was 6.6 going to bed and FBG 7.3. It was 7.45 before I managed to get breakfast so it got to 8.2 before I had eggs and it is back at 7.4 now. Lord knows what it will be after Aqua Fit!
B. Black coffee and 2 scrambled eggs with parsley. Just ate a 80g pack of TESCO cold calamari with cracked black pepper before I go off to Aqua.
L. Must cook the chicken breast I didn't have yesterday and will have with salad
D. Yay - Fat Head Pizza!!
Will report on what low carb does combined with 2 hrs exercise later.

I love fat head pizza but can't have it all the time I'm on 800 calories per day. :( I will think of you munching away at it this evening and sulk. ;)

Bad news: I weigh 20lbs more than I thought I did. It's all Mr C' s fault for decorating the bathroom. He's moved where the scales were kept and they showed me 20lb up - so I naturally thought they were broken and bought some new scales which arrived this morning. The new scales also show me as +20lbs. So I moved both scales to where they used to live and both showed me as back down to what I thought I was. I then tried them out in various places (kitchen, lounge, garden) and :( yes, I am 20lbs heavier than I thought. So I got a spirit level and the floor in the bathroom is flat as a pancake - except for a small dip in the place where I used to keep the scales. Grrrrrrr.

That is awful, and I really feel for you. :(

The weird bit is I right now feel significantly fatter than I did before I found out how much I really weigh.

I'm going to make your coffee and walnut cake this weekend although I might make it as butterfly muffins instead of one big cake so I have more portion control. :)

That is seriously although you lost inches of your waist so you have lost weight. I'm one of these glass half full people all it means is your start point was 20 lbs more than where you started so you have still lost and you waist has shrunk so it is working.
I was getting disillusioned as I thought my weight loss had stopped but discovered that it is not a good idea to weigh yourself in an Arran tunic that is almost to your knees and weighs a ton ! (OK that's an exaggeration but you know what I mean).
Aqua Fit and water running got me to 6.5. Just had an avocado and prawns for lunch (chicken heading for the freezer as I want my Father Head pizza).

#Brunneria have you ever air fried a chicken breast? Just wondering for when I get around to it.

Hello
B. Raspberries and yoghurt

L. Camambert with walnuts

D. Leftovers of the slow cooker brisket with vegetables. 4 strawberries with yoghurt.

I'm going to treat myself to a pomegranate pot this evening:)

We had an Actifry for about a year. Loved it. Made chips in it once... cos you have to, don't you? But the rest of the time I used it for some brilliant things. Chicken thighs (prefer them to breasts cos they have more flavour), sausages, curries, mediterranean veg, stir fries... the works.

But just after the guarantee ran out, I raised the lid on it when it was standing too far back on the countertop. The lid flew up and hit the bottom of the wall cupboard and cracked to pieces. Very sad. We didn't replace it. Went for one of those countertop halogen ovens, and have been v pleased with that, instead. I almost never turn the main oven on now. :)

Ta da - 5.8. First time in months. Looks like my pool session just took a bit longer to get me there and I have another 2 hrs in the pool tomorrow morning.

Fat head pizza - darn auto correct I am not reduced to cannibalism

Been a bad boy today, put my back out a few days ago so having lots of baths, consequence is i never had time to prepare lunch for today, On the way back to the office phone boss, "i'm going to Tesco to get some lunch want anything?, reply was can I stop off at KFC!".

30 mins late full belly and killed of one boneless banquet meal inc the fries. I was expecting the worst but 2 hours later levels were 7.3, it seems the low carb diet is allowing me to be naughty once in a while, this was the 1st thing i have eaten in a month that wasn't prepared by me, prior to Christmas it was a miracle if i cooked anything from scratch.

Your dinners always sound so appetising Brunneria :-)

I succumbed to some Alpen muesli for breakfast. It cost me an arm and a leg given it was imported from UK. This afternoon we are having a BBQ where I will be nibbling from a cheese platter, homemade salmon pate, celery sticks and olives. Followed by lamb steaks, bbq chicken and pork and apple sausages with a kale & fetta salad. I made a trifle as I'm not keen on it so probably will give it a miss. And of course I will be downing copious amounts of red wine. But today is my last day of comfort eating. It's not going to bring her back and at this rate if I keep this up I won't be far behind her :-)

Breakfast - flaxmeal & oat porridge made with 1/8 c flaxmeal & 1/16 cup oats and made with half water and half full cream milk. Served with Greek yoghurt, raspberry chia seed jam and 1/2 small pear.

Lunch - 1/2 avocado + hazelnut crackers

Post-dinner - low carb bread (home made) with butter and Vegemite

Dinner - braised lamb shoulder chops and warm cauliflower, Swiss chard and walnut salad. Dressed with lemon juice and walnut oil.
