What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

yes, I always have a bit of a giggle when a recipe says 2 garlic cloves.
2 pathetic wimpy little tiny garlic cloves from the inside of the bulb?
or 2 huge great glossy succulent cloves from the outside of a giant bulb?
I think you can guess which I usually go for...

My kitchen is wafting all sorts of spicy aromas through to me. Anyway
B. Usual 2 scrambled eggs with parsley and 2 rashers of crispy bacon. Cup of vegetable boullion.
L. Breakfast was so late it was lunch.
D. 1 piece of chicken pakora with chilli and tomato dip. (Rest of the family is having chicken pakora, poppadoms, onion bhajis, spicy onions and various dips)
An aubergine curry but I've add spinach and green beans to it with lamb cutlets marinated in yoghurt and tumeric. Served with broccoli rice and Diet Doctor Naan bread. (Rest of the family are having normal naan and brown basmati) Recipe is on the Diet Doctor Challenge thread.
Low carb ricotta pancakes with a mix of blueberries, strawberries, raspberries soaked in chambord , couple of teaspoons extra thick cream and a tiny drizzle of sweet freedom.
I will have my little bottle of prosecco too. Haven't had coffee, tea or alcohol since last Saturday so will be nice to have something other than water. Oh and curry tastes a wee bit mild for us so I'm upping the spicing.

There's 4 in my curry with the ginger.

Went for afternoon tea today - booked before I was diagnosed. Ate four finger sandwiches, cheese, egg and 2 tuna. They gave me berry kebabs instead of cakes so thought my bs would be ok. Went up to 8 which is the highest it's been in the last 3 weeks. Just proves to me the lc diet I've been trying to follow works.

Hello
B. Raspberries and Greek yoghurt

L. Roast pork, gravy, carrots, cauliflower.

D. Salmon fillet and 2 olives. Strawberries and yoghurt.

I will definetly be having a pomegranate pot tonight as I didn't enjoy my dinner.

Chicken salad, it wasn't very good because the chicken was all fatty so I ended up just leaving most of it and just chomping the salad instead with some Burgen bread.

Still hungry though..

Coffee with cream for breakfast - not a success so added 3 olives and 15g of cheddar

Mini Fritadella meatballs with leeks in cream and stir fried cabbage

Broccoli and Stilton soup followed by sugar free jelly, yogurt and cream

Breakfast - crustless quiche (made with eggs, double cream, bacon, onions, spinach, cheese)

Lunch - tuna mayo with rocket and 6 baby plum tomatoes

Dinner - bolognese with courgetti and a bit of cheese, low carb "mousse" (sugar free jelly mixed with cream and set in the fridge)

Low carb rocks!!!

BG before 5.2

Then big roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings as in my earlier post PLUS 3 glasses red wine, and two slices low carb lemon drizzle cake with cream for pudding

BG 2 hours after .... 5.1.

B Bacon, tomato, mushrooms, scrambled egg, half Lidl roll toasted with butter
L Nuffink
D Sweet & sour pork & veg casserole, broccoli, grated celeriac & cauli mixed & microwaved with salt & ground mixed nuts. Looks like wholegrain rice, absorbs the sauce nicely.

An eating day!

B: breakfast omelette - egg, bacon, sliced sausage, mushrooms
L: DietDoctor tandoori salmon and sour cream, cucumber, pepper and spring onion salad
D: DietDoctor baked peppers stuffed with mince and cheese, with green salad

Yums all round!

Now, can i resist the chia muffin that is just lying there in the box on the counter...?

Family actually ate the same dessert as me tonight and liked it!! One of them even tried my DD naan and thought it tasted better than the 'real' naan. Finally mastered the DD Naan no crumbly edges this time but I did add nigella seeds again to the recipe.

yesterday
brunch - porridge
dinner - chicken baked in cream, cheese and bacon sauce, with red and green peppers, mushrooms and slices of leek and plenty of garlic in it. Cauliflower and broccoli with a few carrot slices and peas on the side (Mr G and his mum had some pasta instead of the cauli).
Afters was some Alpro yoghurt and blueberries.

bg was 5.2 when tested 2 hours after dinner so I was very happy

Anniversary meal out today - so....

Breakfast: Sausages, eggs, bacon, grilled tomato, one tablespoons baked beans, half a Lidl protein roll (first time I've had one in ages)

Lunch: Nothing

Dinner: Tapas meal - I've looked at the website and it will probably be a couple of fish dishes, a couple of chicken dishes, a lamb dish and an aubergine dish and probably a salad (I'm not being a pig - the dishes are very small)
